It has been quite a while since I last talk about my work, mostly has been ranting about it.
Well, ranting about work is part and parcel of life in the working world. Isn’t it?
You just need to let it out and let them run as wild as they can.
Working in a corporate world is pretty much challenging and the stress, unimaginable.

Most of the time when one of my bosses is in town, we always meet up over dinner and we will have a good chat on how is The Office doing, what is in place of The Company, this and that. The last I had this kind of good chat is back in October 2008 with The Boss. This time, Junior Boss comes and we met up over dinner. The dinner environment for two was just nice for us to catch up on business, development and The Office.

See, Junior Boss just came into The Company and he has been learning the ropes of the business as well as the people with The Company. Coming from an international corporate company background, in my own opinion, he has what it takes to take the company to a greater height.

It is good to see how he has his plans for The Company and how much he would want the company to grow both internally and externally. I share the same vision as he does, which is to bring about a big change to The Company.

Looking back, I’ve felt that, maybe I’ve made the right choice to forgo my degree and take up this challenge with The Company. I’ve also made the right choice to let go the opportunity to work in other industry like pharmaceutical, airline and property sales. Not forgetting also to mention the right choice to forgo a recent employment opportunity with a US based company (even though I get better benefits).

This new job scope brings me to a whole new level. It is the kind of work scope where I thought a non-degree holder can only dream about holding it. It seriously gives me a second thought about how important education actually is. The real education is not paper education, but rather self education.

There are so much to learn in management and I guess, so far, I’ve made the right choice of decision in my working life after all. I would say, plus right choice with luck and opportunity given. Luck that I’ve got a great boss and mentor and the opportunity to take up new challenges and I’ve succeeded so far.

If I were to say back then, that I need more time.

Now, I need more than time.
