Decanter Too… Lovey Dovey
Dec 12th
Just back from 1st Annual Young Corporate Malaysian Summit 2009 and I’m sitting here at Decenter Too, Hartamas. Listing to musics like Wonderful Tonight, Eternal Flame, Titanic Theme Song, Endless Love and all that jazz…

This place is just nice and small… Quite the chilling also lah. On a personal opinion, they can do better with the music. At least throw in some nice chill-out house or some jazz or some instrumental lor. They kept on looping the same music over and over again. It gets boring after an hour or so. Decanter Too should maybe get a MP3 player and play hundreds of songs at one go.

The Christmas deco also already up. I think I would wanna throw a small party here some time in the near future. But only one thing that would make me think twice. The parking space outside is just too limited if I would want to host a group of 20 people or so.
Food wise, it is not too bad. I had the Mixed Grill at RM 30++. Mixed of Chicken, Lamb and Fish. Totally made my stomach happy.

I had a great meal here now with Tocklet sitting right in front of me and it can never be better after a long day at YCMS 2009.
Happy Meal at Jalan Ipoh
Dec 6th
Went for dinner with Aaron Ho after Hannah Tan’s media launch.
It was a real yummy meal and I remembered that I can barely move. So so so so so full I tell you!
I seriously can’t remember what we ate, but it was real yummy lah.
We did not know what to order, so we asked for their shop specialty. But the boss tried to overcharge us by giving us more than what we wanted. Small became medium. T_T Lucky last minute got backup to help by eating “some” food lah.
So here goes.
This is the Asam Fish.

It’s nice and yummy! The spiciness can be tones down as you wish. Nothing to shout about the fish, but the asam and all… ohhh YUM!
Next! I can’t remember what’s the name of this dish. Something “kah heong choi” (Canton). Nvm, I go back there again and ask for the same dish again lor.

It was nice with the “tang hun” (Hokkien) and all the other vege you can see above. I’m so bad with dish names lah!
Then, I wanted pork so this was recommended. And NO! I can’t remember the name again either.
My bad.

Very nice, especially the “Thai” sauce on top. A real yummy dish to go with white rice. If there is a reason for me to go back to this shop, it will be this dish.
An hour later, it is all cleaned up! Nice nice happy meal indeed.

Location? It is just nearby the Mobil petrol station. In the housing area wan. I shall map it out next time okay? Lazy to do a KY like map.
Rojak SS15
Jul 30th
I think my miserable feeling is short term.
But it feels like on and off, on and off… -__-
Anyways… thinking of food, I’m already craving of SS15 Rojak.

I crave for fried baby crab too…
No picture of fried baby crab yet. Wait for it! *FINGERS CROSSED*
Office Stimulus Package – Dinner Night Out
Mar 23rd
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!! Waaatttzzzaaaaaaaaaaa….
I’m online again, on the road… Thanks to Celcom Broadband…!!
Monday has been crazy… The Office needs some reorganization a little bit to make sure things run smoothly.
Had this airline meeting in the morning and was interrupted with something in The Office. I hate it when it happens and well, when client wants something, we have to deliver. Right?
Monday usually comes with a tag line, Monday Meetings. Non stop ones that is. I have to make a mental note NOT to schedule any appointments on Mondays. Ever! Ever! Ever! *stress*
Oh, I need to get a new dispatch to run things in The Office. Running out of hands to help get things delivered and again, I hate it when I have to do my own delivery. When that happens, I am stuck more than half a day outside.
Had an earlier planned dinner with ex-colleague but it was canceled. That means, I will be stuck in the office doing all paperwork. That can wait.
I decided to throw everyone a dinner night out.
So, it was a “Bring The Office Out For Dinner” night, tonight.
I asked for consensus where they all wanna go and Pavilion was the choice. Went to Pavilion. Looked at the directory and decided on Dome. Can’t have many choices as Accounts Girl can only consume Halal meals.
I feel that, we open up to each other better over dinner. I get to understand them better and we share our thoughts and feelings towards our work. Plus, it is easier to get harsh comments through to the other person. Like how I hit hard at my Junior Ticketing for his mistakes and how much we want him to change and work better as a team. In The Office working environment, there is hardly any room for mistakes. It will cost us our valuable clients. Simple as that.
This morning briefing, I was telling my counterpart how small The Office is and she said “So there is no politics at all. Good“.
I replied, “There is. I keep politics real. I tell them in the face where are their faults and rights.”
I explained that, like it or not, someone gotta tell you what is so wrong or right about your working attitude or performance. Instead of telling how bad you are at your back, I tell you right in front of your face and you change, you stay. You don’t, I’m sorry but there are many others who wants to sit at your place. Simple as that.
Anyways, I’m so gonna do this every month. Doesn’t matter which pocket it comes from. As long as we get to bond with each other better, that’s it. Furthermore, it helps with their pocket to enjoy great meal at the expense not of their own.
Call it The Office Stimulus Package – Dinner Night Out.
Okay.. time to run now… Be right back later once I’m home.. in a while…
Il Gelato Soothes Your Tiring Day
Mar 15th
Just what I want to chill my tiring body…

Oh il Gelato. You soothes my tongue, throat and body…
Hmmm… I shall resort to some el-cheapo gelato here in Malaysia…
Okay, that calls for a “hunt for gelato” plan today… Good!
The Long Weekend
Mar 10th
Last Saturday and Sunday has got to be the longest weekend out. I practically clocked more than 24 hours away from home. The long weekend started great, ended great too.
Had to head back to office as there is some issue with 11thFloorOffice. The plan was to open up my system and let the 11thFloorOffice girl finish up the work. No. I had to wait till she finished then only I can leave.
The Girl arrived while I was in the midst of getting my work done. It has been a while since we had our long day outing. Last was, 2006? Wait, I think it was early 2007. Gah! Can’t remember.
Anyways, so late lunch was at Pepper Lunch. We had the Combo Cut Steak & Hamburger. The beef was so hard to chew!!! %#$%#@ But the hamburger was just fine. The bill came to RM 64. Crazy expensive for such lunch. The Girl vowed not to head back there, ever.

No prior plan on what to do was made. I went on with the simple, “Let’s see what we can do there” plan. Which is good. Don’t need to be sorry if any earlier plan didn’t work out.
Movie would be the best way to kill time. I opted for Marley & Me as there were a widespread of reviews on how good the movie is. Read Joshua’s review. I liked this movie. Shows how much we all need to plan for marriage and family. It is not easy to bring up a family, but with perseverance, a couple can strive on to build a wonderful family.

Still full from the late lunch, The Girl got a craving of tea. So we headed to Wong Kok Char Chan Theng. I must say, the setup of this place is very nice. Very very very very nice.

Midway, two plans came up. I need to head over to Sungai Wang to check out on phones and a birthday party to attend at Bangsar. Two of which I only realize while having my tea there at Wong Kok. Thanks goodness that I keep most “important” sms in my inbox, so that I will remember when I read my inbox.
Drove to Sungai Wang, did some scouting for Motorola V3i for my colleague and walked around for a bit.
Birthday girl wanted a chocolate cheese cake and I had to scout for it also. The things I do for my friends. Got it from Secret Recipe. Was about time to leave Sungai Wang for Bangsar and I faced a massive jam on the way out of the carpark. -_-

Took us more than one hour to reach Bangsar from Sungai Wang. Crazy! The jam was just massive lah. Gah! Reached D’Haven in Bangsar to join the others already there waiting. Hope you had a great time there Geralynn. And of course the cake also…

The night ended quick with a quick photo session. Drove The Girl back. Final plan was that to try her homemade coffee. Just to freshen me up before I drive back. Nope. Didn’t work. I slumped on the couch. Was a good sleep after a long day.
Woke up to a note on the table, left by The Girl.

I woke up pretty early on Sunday morning, with a very bad neckache. That’s to my super wonderful sleeping position on the couch. -_- The early morning was dreadful, hence, back to sleep. Woke up again just before noon. The Girl made the promised coffee and it was a good one. A powderful kick to start of the morning.

My turn to crave for dim sum, but it was just so-so only. Gah! I want good dim sum!

Work seems to be haunting me since the start of the weekend and it will not stop, even if it is Sunday. Sigh…

Finished up work and left The Girl’s place. Only to have met a hit and run accident, which I spent my whole afternoon helping the victim. Have to delegate work to my colleague during this ordeal.

What I said about work haunting me again? Gah! I need to put a stop on this matter. I need a better working equipments. A powerful handheld device which I can carry around and get my work done. Maybe a Nokia E71? Samsung Omnia? iPhone? or a Blackberry? Hmmm….
Spent the late afternoon at Starbucks SS2, online and getting my work done. The Boys decided to come up for dinner at Williams. Had Nasi Goreng Special with Two Types of Chicken. Yes, that’s the name of the dish.

The dinner was heavy. I can’t finish it. Jun came to the rescue.
I went back to Klang. Slept for a good 8 hours!
Fullhouse was Full House
Feb 28th
I had a sudden urge to look at properties. So I went over to The Gallery by Sime Darby and Brunsfield Joint Venture to look at their up and coming property development, Oasis. Oh Wow! I like their studio unit already. Can’t wait to see the showroom next week!!!
The thought of going to CHC alone didn’t hit me well (still need to get use to it), plus, I decided to head over to St. Ignatius at Kelana Jaya but I missed the time of mass there. So I decided to just find a spot and get online while catching up on uploading pictures to Facebook and some readings which I have not been doing for the past two weeks. Nui Ze Xui is where I went.
I’ve never been to Nui Ze Xui at Ara Damansara. Usually I will always check out a new place which people will talk about a lot, but I didn’t for this place. Took me quite a while to only make my way here to see what NZX has to offer to the general public.
All I heard was that NZX is a very quiet place and not a place to hang out. Seems like a good hiding place for me away from many people. If I were to sit at Starbucks Sunway Pyramid, I’m to bump into familiar faces. McDonald’s wireless line at Mentari is nothing better either.
So here I am at Fullhouse, and the time is 6.30pm and it was very quiet. Time definitely travels fast and it was already half past seven. It is when the dinner crowd start tearing down the front door (if they have any), taking seats in the restaurant. At half past eight, people actually started lining up at the front entrance, with their stomach growling, trying to get a place in this two storey restaurant.
A chinese girl is standing at the front entrance to take down reservations as the restaurant is already packed to the brim. No more seats are available at this point of time and it is only 8.45pm. I can see waiters are busy taking and sending orders to customer’s table. Fullhouse is now as their name suggests, full house.

It is really peak hours for them till 10pm where the crowd starts finishing their dinner and moving on to another place. Throughout my time there, I had my main, dessert and two drinks.
Sitting here, I’ve met Leroy, a high school buddy whom I’ve not met for a very long time. We last chat one month ago as he wanted to go to Bali so we had a long chat on what’s new with him and all. I’ve also met a college senior who is dining there. Then I saw both Cindy Tey and Eri Peng with their friend walking in, but don’t think they saw me sitting by the pillar. Could it be that I’ve turned darker that they didn’t recognize me?
You see, I had taken up a 6 top table. I’m withholding Fullhouse a potential 5 more customer revenue should they have 6 party coming in. I felt bad so I ordered more than a main dish. At least I’m considerate enough to give back because I’m sitting all alone by myself at a 6 top. Heh..
My main was Pan Sear Doly Fish (Doly!!???) while I settle for Jasmine Honey with Aloe Vera for my drink.

with siew pak choy & lemon grass cream
For dessert I had Chocolate Brownie, which was really YUMMY!!! Totally recommended by YapThomas!

hot chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream
The chocalate brownie gives me the very nice happy feeling that my meal is already complete.
But, just one more order would make it a perfect meal and I feel like having coffee.
“Excuse me, Can I have the menu please.” I asked the waiter
*grin*
The Past 120 Hours
Jan 17th
In no particular order, these has been the happenings.
Note also that I spend most of my time in the office as I had do extra load of work because the other colleague of mine can’t come to the office because of ‘family’ issue.
I will not go into detail as I had enough already!
So yeah, these has been part of the happenings in the past 120 hours in no particular order.
Had Swensen’s, and if I am not mistaken it was Earthquake day. This day is very crazy. I had to rush from one place to another to collect payments and meet clients and finally ending the day with The Boys. AND I remember I didn’t had much on the ice-cream! Ish!

Approval Model for Swensen’s Earthquake!
Then, there was a food tasting session at Cova. Before I go into full details about Cova, I have to tell you this two points.
1) Order the angel hair spaghetti which is not in the menu! Ask personally from the chef, Max, to make you one. It’s just nice. Not spectacular, but nice. Simple and nice.
2) Their BBQ Rib is A MUST ORDER item in the menu.

A new life to Cova…
Then, went to a totally dead place, thinking it was gonna be happening at SOHO KL. But, that whole place closes at 12 Midnight. 12 MIDNIGHT! Crazy! So early for what! People start coming out, you start closing!
So, ended playing with lights instead and Ice-Cream and McDonalds.

Then, earlier, a dinner with Pat and Nat at Carlos, Pavilion. It was really yum! The Mexicana Pizza was great, same goes to their Spaghetti.

The Fetucini Spaghetti
This pizza, like I said. Worth many tries.

The Mexicana Pizza

Nachos
and, Friday night ended with going back to office to clear some pending documents and then head over to look for this person I have been hunting and tracking for sometime now. He was kinda shock when I approached him.
But, we cleared the air as I am a reasonable person.

Random shots…
So yeah… and I’ve got another long day again on Saturday! *phew*
It’s just not easy to cope up with so many things.
The Gmail inbox has been overflowing with unread mails and it is killing me already. Took some time to clear all my mails and archive them. Yes, I very the tidy wan.
Time to take a break in a chillin’ city…
Updates soon!
A Review of Bondi Beach Bar & Grill…
Dec 6th
I was called by CS one day and he told me that he has moved from Mardi Gras to this new place called Bondi Beach. At first, I thought he is calling me from Bondi Beach, Sydney. -_-
I have left the F&B for so long already now. No longer keeping touch on what is going on in the F&B arena. CS called me and asked if I still have the contacts for food PR peeps. I told him nope, but I have a pool of people who can write about his place and he can treat it as online marketing.
I remembered well that I kept on forgeting about getting people over to his place.
I was so busy that I appointed two runner to call people on my behalf. Aaron and Joshua. Wait, I rope in Yatz too, cause he was online. It was really a hell, and I was like multi-tasking between this, my work and IC2009. Crazy…
So, back to Bondi Beach. This is my first time coming to this part of The Curve. It is situated just beside Bubba Gumps.
Bondi Beach is a Grill & Bar. The concept is pretty much a laid-back, backyard cooking kinda style restaurant.

Used to be the Indian restaurant called Colonial something…

This place is just cozy… Cozy enough for your friends to come together after a long day’s work and chill out and talk about life… -_-

They have a small oval or rather round area outside the restaurant. It is facing the Bubba Gump restaurant.

What you are seeing here is just about 60% complete, their renovation. They have their guys at Aussie to bring back some settings to make this whole place feel like you are at Bondi Beach in Sydney. Not really 100% exactly but at least, you will have the feel.

They even have a DJ playing latest trend musics to keep the mood alive…

But then, that night, the DJ just played the music which doesn’t suit the mood. He really needs to improve in the sense that he needs to put his shoes as the customer who come in and dine and what they are listening is BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!. Why not they go Sanctuary rather than Bondi right?
Now, seen the place enough. Not quite I bet. You need to be there to feel the atmosphere. Let’s look at the food that they have. The ones I’m going to show you are their “trademarks” dishes. Where, people would say, you have not been to Bondi Beach Bar & Grill if you don’t give these dish an order.
We were served first Grilled Oysters topped with Buttery BBQ Sauce.

This is not too bad. Very fresh and with their sauce, I don’t even get to taste the raw taste.
Next in line was the Prawn Pinwheels – Spiced Tiger Prawns grilled, on a bed of curle endives.

I liked the prawn. I’m very particular with prawn. But this, the Tiger Prawn was just, YUM! When you bite it, it is just solid.
The chef whip out some royal rumble dish later on. It was the Seafood Kebab with Dill – Tiger Prawn, soft-shell crab, squid, tengiri, courgette, cherry tomato served with tartar sauce.

Nothing to shout about for this dish, but, it is just kinda unique to serve this dish. Oh! in all the dishes, comes with small garnishing of vegetable, potatoes and tomatoes. I like the tomato the best. OMG! It is so orgasmic! When you bite the tomato, the juice just BURST into your mouth and you just want more and more! I’m so SERIOUS!
Moving on, we have Salmon fish. I didn’t ask where they got this, maybe its Australian imported.

Hmmm… this is one nice piece of Salmon. Again, the raw taste doesn’t hit into my taste bud. It is just nice.
The same dish that came together with the Salmon fish was, Fillet of Dory.

One of my all time favourite fish. The dory fish meat are usually very smooth. What’s more when it is grilled?
Continuing the dishes, we have two of Bondi Beach’s mains…
Rib Eye and Sirloin on separate dish, served with their famous ‘homemade’ sauce.

When CS told us that we have to pay for the sauce, I got kinda like shocked! HUH? Need to pay. The point put forth was, it is our very own taste bud that we want to suit. So, we pay for the taste that we want. The meat can go with any sauce, but not many may like the typical common Black Pepper Sauce. What’s the cost of each sauce? It is RM 3 and worth the money.
They serve us with three of their many sauces available. Bondi BBQ, Musroom and Black Pepper. Among others are Roasted Tomato Salsa, Lemon Herb Butter, Cajun Remoulade and Le De Paris.

To end our dinner, Bondi Beach served us two of their best dessert. Of course, serve us the best la, where got people serve you cheapo dish for a food review, right? But then again, let me divert a little bit.
The main man behind this restaurant is a Korean and he has his vast experience in F&B. His philosophy is, doesn’t matter if he needs to waste a badly grilled steak to create another perfect steak. It is the quality and service that Bondi Beach wants to deliver to each of their customer.
This is the kind of restaurant I would want to dine in, like seriously. I’ve no doubt of their service. Some of their people there I know are from other places and I’ve known their service level.
OKAY, back to dessert. We were served first Honey Grilled Banana with Coconut Flakes and secondly Apple Cinnamon Comb.

If I am not having my dinner here at Bondi Beach Bar & Grill, I will be having my dessert here. Definitely! Personally I like the latter best. The Apple Cinnamon Comb was the favourite of the night in the dessert category. I just can’t get enough of it and I’m already craving for it now!! OH NO!!!
It was a nice outing and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Last minute plan doesn’t turn out that bad either eh?
These are the peeps there that night…

Ken, Sidney, Joshua, Myself, Aaron, Celine, Stephanie, Stanley, Chunglern with the P.I.C in front CS.

Tongkun Authentic Korean Restaurant @ Mon’t Kiara
Nov 7th
It was a date with my mom a month ago… (whoa! so long ady!!)
So she wanted to go out. Promised the public holiday for her. Went shopping!
That’s when I got my new baju kerja.
Okay, that aside… Let’s talk about this restaurant. I’ve been eye-ing this restaurant for quite some time already. The thing about me is that, when I see anything I like, anything, a place, a shirt, a toy or anything. I will remember and make sure I somehow get it.
Perseverance my friend! Perseverance!
I decided to bring her there, since she asked me to bring her for Korean food.
Tongkun Authentic Korean Restaurant is where I brought her to.
The interior is very neat and tidy…

The setting inside is just cozy…

They even have a low table where you can sit and dine akin to tatami style…

Let’s begin with the food. The side dishes was in a generous potions…

This is my first time eating Korean food like this kinda BBQ style. I’m fascinated…
There goes our “mmeeekk” lamb chop…

And the sumptuous “Babi” (Pork)…

I ordered an a-la-carte dish. Some Korean curry pork with rice.

Oh and the dessert. I like the Cinnamon, Ginger and Honey drink. First time trying it.

There you go! This is Tongkun Authenthic Korean Restaurant @ Mon’t Kiara.

Don’t know how to go? Come, let me help you here with a map…

Go try it out! The meal I had above, cost me about RM 120. Pricey but nice…
