When you see a beggar in the street what do you do?

When you see someone who is imperfect, what do you have in mind?

When you see someone who is less fortunate, what can you do to help?

Have you had any struggle in life that you feel so beaten that you think, that’s it, there is no more hope and you are useless and you are incapable of doing something great for yourself? I know people who feels so.

Then, let me show you this short film by directed by Joshua Weigel and produced with his wife, Rebekah Weigel which has won numerous film awards. This movie features the Spanish heartthrob Eduardo Verastegui.

This movie is about Will who is born without limb. Nick Vujicic acts as Will in this short film. If you haven’t heard about Nick Vujicic then you should start spending some time in YouTube listening to his inspirational talks he gave.

When you see someone who’s born without limb, do you curse him/her as much as you think he is cursed from God? Maybe he/she is the chosen one by God to remind us how beautiful life is and to also to tell us that despite any imperfection in our life, the love towards one and another should never be less than imperfect.

What do you think? I personally think this quote is so meaningful:

“The greater the struggle, the more glorious the triumph”

It is so true, the greater the struggle, the more glorious the triumph will be in our life. Simply to say, if we fall… no matter how bad the wound, never ever fail to stand up. If we fail to even try to stand up, we fail forever.

There are many people who has disadvantages and people would just ignore their existence or just curse their existence. Like those who have AIDS for example, people would start to distance themselves away from them.

This short film shows us that, even if we are in our imperfect state, we can still inspire other lives.

Share this with your friends, family and loved ones.

A Support System

It was just over the weekend I had dinner with Steph. Well, the usual catch up session and all. We then touched on the topic of relationship. She sparked the question, “So, any prospect yet with any girls?”.

Haha, seriously, I think a lot of people are more worried of me being single than I actually am myself. But, great! Thanks for the concern people. But, bearing in mind that if I am meant to be single, then it is God’s will, not mine. Then again, men and women are meant to be united as one in God’s Kingdom. Hence, I am sure there is one person out there whom he has kept waiting for me while I build his Kingdom. (Okay, I am sounding like I am preaching the whole lot of the Church but hey, that’s my life man. Either you like me bad, or you like me good.)

Okay, what I am going to touch about here is “Support System” in a relationship, be it your family, friends, date or your spouse. Often in relationship, the key issue faced is “time” spent together. I think this is actually the main major issue most relationship fail.

Let me take for example of relationship as a couple. Steph and I talked about our friends who finds that relationship is all about spending time together as a couple. To me, probably that is not entirely true. I believe and I think that being in a relationship is all about support. Often that we hear that one side of a couple says that their partner doesn’t spend much time together with him/her. They go on and complaint that all their partner do is work and work and only spend 1 time a week with him/her. I could say that mostly, again, “mostly” the women will complaint about that the most.

What is support in a relationship?

To put it simply, personally, I feel that when the man goes to work, what most the woman can do is support. Often at many times, woman thinks that their man should be giving more time to her instead of his work. There are many more but I shall not go further. My opinion is much one-sided but I suppose men has the tendency to do such complaints too. Now, the earlier comment is very subjective, because certain group of woman would think that when their man only knows about work, there could be a hidden agenda or something.

Now, I wouldn’t say this is not true but… hey, all man are evil to you ladies who has been cheated by their man, no?

While another group would think that they are second in priority in her man’s life and heart.

Personally, if I was that man (I’m such a classic good example no?), I would say “Give me all the support that you can as much as I give all the love I can give to you.” When I put an importance to my work now, I am putting an importance towards you as well as to our future “if” we ever build a family together.

As I put it in my own words, “I am building my empire here”, a future for myself or the both of us. If all you can do is complaint of the lack of time spent together while not trusting me doing my bit for the relationship of ours, then it will never end. Of course, time spent will be limited but the trust, love and support should and must be greater than that!

Because, the glory will come for the family when the man has more than enough to provide for the family and it will also be the time the man will have more time to spend with his loved ones. Unless the man of the family don’t have proper planning or succession plans in his work/business, it will not help much. Let’s talk reality here, living expenses is just going up by the day and if the man can’t provide for himself enough, what makes you think there will be a family which can survive by just enough?

Plus, when it comes to support it is also a mutual role in providing for the family. Hence, women plays equal part. In this world, man are never higher than woman, just the role is different in the life of a man or woman.

I would say that, be it if you are a woman or a man. In a relationship, support them all you can with any means and in any stage of your life. If your spouse works late night, ask them if they need food. If your spouse is having trouble at work, be a good listener. If your spouse can’t cook well so do you, eat out together. If your spouse is having income issues this month, spend less and budget for the month. In any situation, there is a way out. In the end, the essence of relationship is being together happy with love in the eyes of God (if you are a religious person). Plus, you don’t need to be a religious person to know what’s love.

Journey to “The Way”

It has been more than 10 days since I last actually spend time more time on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Gtalk and well any other forms of social media tools you can think of. Hence, the reason why, I spend most of the time at work or home with lots of Me time.

I decided that I wanted to take a break and spend most of the time, alone… Me time.

Well, I would say that, actually I decided to be anti-social online and be social in life, not for eternity, but just for a short period of time. Something, really sparked or rather moved me to stay focus on what I am doing and change the course of how I live my life. As I learnt during the recent Life Camp that my mission in this world is not only being a servant in church, but to serve by doing what I do best in the world.

Maybe it was the Life Camp at Good Shepherd Catholic Seminary that I attended during Labour Day that moved me. What moved me actually was the learning about Discipleship by Deacon Sherman whose journey in the Catholic faith was somewhat similar to mine in layman’s journey. Maybe this article would interest you, if you would want to understand about the Catholic faith.

On another note, I was introduced to Theology of the Body by Christopher West. One interesting video of Christopher West explaining Theology of the Body is this > The Playboy and The Pope. Pope John Paul II devoted the first major teaching of his pontificate to what he called the Theology of the Body – a study of what God has revealed about Himself in and through the human body.  This profound and beautiful teaching calls everyone – regardless of age or vocation – to an authentic understanding and living out of what it means to be created male and female in the image and likeness of God.

This coming August, I will joining more than 300,000 Catholic youths in Madrid for World Youth Day. I am all more excited as I begin to search my way again within the Catholic faith. What’s even more exciting is that I will be spending 5 days walking more than 100KM on Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela which is also widely know, The Way of St. James. This will be the pilgrimage after the World Youth Day.

If you want to know how it is walking The Way? Watch this Trailer of the movie made about walking towards Santiago de Compostela. Load it and watch.

There are so much experiences I have gone through in life that goes against the teaching of the church. In reality, almost everyone has sin at least once. I have sin more than once. During the Life Camp, I further learnt that living the Catholic way is not easy. It takes a lot as we get attacks left, right and centre about our faith. There is so much to learn from the Bible itself, that I myself do not know about, frankly. There are even so much more about the Catholic church all the way to the Vatican to learn about.

There is a long way and I am preparing all I can for this journey… journey to “The Way”.

The New Enrich by Malaysia Airlines

Being in the travel industry, Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) is one of the products that we need to learn a lot besides travel products, because there are some hardcore FFP Mileage Runners around to make a quick redemption without paying a single cent more or lesser for their flight. Pay less for more points is their main focus.

So, Malaysia Airlines has just announced a brand new structure, look and enhancements towards their Frequent Flyer Programme, Enrich. The press conference is held at KL Hilton on 18th May 2011.

That’s Raja Dato’ Nordiana, Snr. VP of Corporate Marketing and Loyalty Programme at MAS.

That’s Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil, MD & CEO of MAS.

This is how MAS Enrich looks like now. Not too bad I suppose…

The new Enrich improvements can be seen in six key innovative and enhanced features.

1) New Elite Qualification Criteria, Elite status is more attainable.
2) Enhanced Elite Tier Bonuses, Members earn miles faster.
3) Platinum Tier Redefined, Enrich Gold can achieve Platinum easier.
4) On-line Redemption Incentives, 15% discount for flights redemption, all year round.
5) New Awards Charts, Lesser miles to travel.
6) e-Lounge Voucher, Can redeem Airport Lounges voucher hassle-free and paperless.

With all the above new enhanced features, MAS’ Enrich targets an increase of 20% membership growth in 2011 alone. Very ambitious but I am sure they will because they have good ratings as one of the FFP which earns miles faster than any other airlines in the region.

If you are not convinced if Enrich is the Frequent Flyer Programme for you, then maybe if you would like to read what others have to say about Enrich as compared to other regional FFPs by other carriers here > FlyerTalk: Rate Malaysia Airlines Enrich.

I have always been reading FlyerTalk and this forum really gives me an insight of what’s new on airlines all around the world from the consumer point of view.

Only thing about Enrich FFP is that, earning miles from MAS or it’s partners is not as wide as AsiaMiles or KrisFlyer, but I guess the redemption availability and quicker in earning miles pays for it. :D

Oh, there are 1,000,000 Enrich miles to be won, YES, ONE MILLION MILES! Plus, by joining the contest, you already can earn 1,000 miles. Simple as that!

What are you waiting for? Submit your postcard now! You need to be an Enrich member first of course.

Strength

It has been really months since I actually write a post here. I guess maybe I have lost the “mojo” to write anymore. Still, I would want to keep this alive so that I can still document on my life journey and then when I am old, I can read back and laugh at myself. How silly I have been. >.<

So, what’s new you may ask?

Busy is the old word and still is.

Just back from South Korea. A country regarded as 1st world country which is so much advance compared to our country. Wish that this great country of mine to be better than them someday, in terms of sustainability development. Hope that I can rise up one day and do something for Malaysia.

Oh, not to forget also, Hong Kong. Did a short stopover there to well, chill and relax, but in the end, not much of a relaxing tho. Had to take care of work while I was there. Totally ruined the weekend I have reserved for Hong Kong. BUT, I had yummy dim sum, great night out and well a good time walking around the streets of Hong Kong.

Also, to note that both these countries have great transportation system. How can our leaders not think about such a system? I am not gonna speak further about our leaders. I really do aspire to do something about our country’s transportation.

Business wise, it is all good, but to work with people with insufficient knowledge and know how of running a travel agency as me is a bane. Well, not to say I am damn great to begin with, but in terms of process and systems and growth of the company. Imagine someone who is aggressive out there to grow the business while the other is a reserved person who doesn’t really wanna take risk and would reserve available funds which could be used for expansion and growth. Needs a lot of work on all these… maybe I am the problem. I can’t run a business. Maybe…

That apart, funny thing is that, during my Korea trip, some of my tour group members decided to match-make me with one of their cousin. When I was Hong Kong, the same and then, when I am back home, it is the same. It seems that nowadays my friends are getting more desperate that I am.

Not to say that I am not, but then, I am sure that if I get into a relationship right now, I don’t know if either party can handle such pressure from me with my work especially.

Even for ignoring messages and not keeping in touch just because I want to keep my mind in focus to my work some of my friends complaint already. Haha. Imagine, I do that to my girlfriend? Even if I find anyone right now, I only hope that person can be understanding. Not many can.

…

Yes… that much has been happening. Hence, I do need some strength right now to endure all these on-goings around me.

I was told that, you need roughly 3 years to really set a base and focus and be successful in business.

3 years! Gosh…

God! Help me!

Effort

Many things in life, we all need to put in the effort to grab it all.

We want so many things, but most of the time, we want it to be achieved easily.

Often at times, I will be disappointed with the result of my own decision. Given that I’ve put in effort.

Few times, before I even put in the effort, I was disappointed.

Once, I put in so much effort, it was beyond disappointment.

Now that I want to put in effort, it feels that there wasn’t any heed to my effort.

Then, when I stop putting effort, they all say I am cold and I am being ignorant, being called names and many other things beyond anyone’s imagination.

Such are the beauties of life that we human have to endure.

These feelings are just… so bleh.

Tell me… is there any real solution at all? None I suppose.
