Anyways, thanks to Garuda Indonesia and to our lovely host Isabelle from Garuda Indonesia.

Flew GA 819 to Jakarta which left at 0650 and when I reached the airport, it was a pleasant surprise waiting when I checked in.

Executive Class Yo! Yo! Yo!

I was all over the moon when I checked in. Hahaha… Wheee… I can still feel the excitement now! *Slaps Self*

All I remembered was that I was so eager to board the plan. Really eager as it was my first Business Class flight! *bangga*

So yes, when we boarded the flight, we were served with hot towel and of course sparkling juice to freshen up.

There was already a pack of headphone waiting to be used. I did not open mine as I just wanted to relax and enjoy the flight.

Then, the Menu for the morning’s flight meal was given and we had to choose our meal. It was a choice of either Chilli and Onion Omelette, Potato – Grilled Sausage – Mushroom or Chicken Murtabak with Dhall Sauce Onion and Chilli. Both also sounds yum but I decided on the former.

About 30 minutes after the we’ve decided on our selection, the Purser started her round serving…

… and here comes my Chilli and Onion Omelette, Potato – Grilled Sausage – Mushroom.

On my back from Jakarta, the meal was Chicken Rice with Mix Vegetable.

So yeah, that was the food, but in terms of seat, well… it is Business Class, or in Garuda Indonesia’s term, Executive Class. To me, it was just way above everything else. Comfort, Service, Food and etc. (Don’t compare with other airline with me. I haven’t been on any other’s)

Anyone 3 times the size of me can fit into the seat lah…

Given my height, the leg room was magnificent! No struggling, backside pain, leg dangling out to the walkway or any complaints of lack of space. Hehe…

All in all… It was a great flight experience… Oh look! Nice sunrise!

One last camwhore picture before I end this post. Muahahha. Cheese to the “Chomel” peeps…

Peace out!

I guess I have to admit that I am living in a denial… that everything would always be fine. No matter how many times I try, I would find myself at a roadblock. Who doesn’t face a roadblock in their life right? Guess, your life and mine is just different.

For what I have tried to build for myself for the past 8 years, it has just fallen deep into the pit hole that that goes beyond the devil’s lair. That just sums how horrible I feel right now. Until this point, I felt that face-saving worth more than anything till someone told me “No matter how thick your face is, when you fall… it will still hurt.” How true.

I never knew that on the basis of trust, it has brought to where I am today. Trust brought me success which I had gain for the past 4 years but trust also led me to sink beyond devil’s lair. How does one really define trust? I don’t even know myself as I go as what my heart says. If trust means that helping people in need, then maybe I would have gotten the wrong idea of it. Either that or I weighted the wrong “need”. I was told that if I do really trust someone, I will pour out everything out to him/her. I guess that I never really trusted anyone before. Was it that or it is just me that I keep everything to myself? I don’t even know myself. Sigh.

There was once I believed that a successful person will fall more than once. I guess I am too successful, now that I had fallen more than thrice, maybe even more. I lost count. I believed also that I may be strong enough to withhold any obstacles that come my way, but I guess I was wrong. I did not withhold any, but rather I diverted myself away, leaving these obstacles behind with a trace. They are now haunting me back with no remorse.

I once said to a friend that the most expensive lessons I learnt in my life has got to involve money. I guess life’s lesson is not free after all. Haha. It has got to be the most expensive “degree” I ever got. I only hope that this “degree” will be able to be paid off in time to come.

I can only thank my family for actually giving me the opportunities to go through such journey. Should my family was well to do; I wouldn’t really face the real world as how I am facing it now. School of hard knocks most of them calls it.

I took this journey at my own accord and I question no one, not even God on why I had to end up this way. It is not the end of the world for me, but it was a lesson well learnt. I just need to wake up, walk up and start walking tall again. I cannot let the past haunt me and I am here to make a change for me, myself and I.

The only thing I can ask from anyone is to help me not in kinds but, just pray for me during this period which I will take a break from everything and anything.

YapThomas

I have been making more and more calls lately to a few country. They are China, Australia, Africa and Hong Kong. Running my own business is a real challenge as I am constantly looking for a more convenient way which is affordable to sustain my business.

iTalkWhoa now has got a special promotion to call a few countries and it got my attention more than ever. The promotional rates was started on 15th July 2010 and it will last till 31st Dec 2010.

Join iTalkWhoa now to get all the special deals. Login now to www. iTalkWhoa.com

What’s even more convenient is that I can make my call from anywhere I am but still pay the rate from Malaysia. How cool is that? Can you find something similar for me? No right? How about I introduce you to use iTalkWhoa. You will sure like it…

And guess what? Now, iTalkWhoa supports Firefox! Wheee… I can never tell u how much I hate Internet Explorer. Actually, it is more like convenience rather than hate because I am a Firefox user and I like it fast just like it does.

So yeah, back to iTalkWhoa, I am currently using this to make my international call. Even if I am running out of credits, I can top it up with an online banking.

The first impression of any visitor to any country, will be the airport itself. It is the first building any tourist will see when they arrive any country. Don’t blaim anyone. It is just normal that one will have an overall perception given the state of the airport.

I was well prepared on the state of Lagos airport before I arrive. To me, the shock was even deeper as much as I have heard about Nigeria, I’ve never thought it will be as bad. How bad? Let me just explain.

This is how the airport looks like on the tarmac. As much as I have heard, the VIP halls are much better.

Coming out from the aircraft, one have to walk through te bridge and then throuh this under-maintained walkway to the immigration hall. There is an escalator going down, but before the escalator, there are officers checking for UN Yellow Fever Vaccine card. The non-courteous officer did a quick run through to make sure you have one and soon release u to the immigration hall.

I don’t know if it is appropriate to call it an immigration hall, it was stuffy, and doesn’t seem to be very well organized to live up to its “international” standards.

The air conditioning is not really working and I believe that an airport such as this should have a centralized air conditoning. There is one, LG air cond there but only one to support a 200+ arriving passengers per international flight? It could be better.

There are 8 working immigration counters, split of 4 each for Foreign and Nigerian passport holders. They have electronic systems in place but by the looks of it, it may be broken. it may have broken down. I guess, simplifying the flow of arrival would really help tremendously.

Oh, did I mentioned that Nigeria is facing a huge power issue? While waiting in line, the power went off for a good 10-15 seconds. I am very sure it is seriously affecting the airport operations.

Just a few days ago, I read in the papers that the Ministry of Aviation and the airport authority has been given 90 days to revamp the whole airport and to make it work to reach the like of Dubai International Airport and I seriously hope they do for the sake of reviving the tourism in Nigeria. If they do so, I believe a lot more airlines will opt to fly into Lagos.

If you would have noticed that I’ve been blogging very often these few days, even when I am traveling. The secret is that I’ve got a new phone. The Samsung Galaxy S (GT-I9000), an Android phone. iPhone can take a back seat for now, as I’m enjoying this phone very much.

There are a few applications that comes with Samsung Galaxy S which I like are:

1) Office Mobile

I’ve gotta love this application. I can now edit my files and read documents and work even while I am abroad.

2) Google Maps

While in Malaysia and even away from Malaysia, this Google Maps on Samsung Galaxy S has been helpful. Trust me, when in Nigeria, this tool is really helpful to note where I am.

3) Social Life comes Alife

With this Android phone, I can be more active with Social Networking Sites (SNS) and be in touch with the world! Emails is very important and I can check my mail instantly while on the road and when I’m back to the office, I can start working immediately as I’ve cleared my emails.

What more can I ask for from Samsung Galaxy S? It has everything I need at the moment to keep me moving.

Key Specification of Samsung Galaxy S:
:- 4″ Super AMOLED Display (Really bright!)
:- 1Ghz CPU Speed (Good for multi-tasking)
:- Android 2.1 Eclair
:- 16GB on board memory (Loads and loads of movies to be stored)
:- 119g only (Seriously… very light)
:- 5mp camera which is capable of taking HD Videos (No shit!!!)
:- All types of connectivity from 3G to even TV-Output

Oh, and if you are trying to connect your phone to your PC, it may not work, go to this site and download Samsung KIES (click). Install the software and it should run smoothly. Should the software prompts to download, click “YES” and update your software.

Maybe I should share the apps that I used so far which has been interesting.

Will continue with my Nigeria experience soon… Watch this space..

It has been more than a day of traveling since I touched down from a 7 hours flight. Very tiring flight. It was quite a full flight. Yesterday I went to www.emirates.com to book myself seats for my flights. Got aisle seats but this recent flight I found myself a bulkhead seat. Thank god as I need the space to stretch my legs. If you haven’t know, I’m 6 footer.

So yes, here I am in a completely foreign land. It is my first time on African soil. This is the airport of where I am right now. This was once the pride of the country and even Africa, so to say.

It was the first ever airport in Africa more than 20 years ago. If you could have guessed or rather known or maybe not have any idea at all, yes I’m at Nigeria.

I’ve got scheduled meetings for the next 7days back to back. The biggest one being tomorrow and I got to get things done from now onwards.

So there you go, I’m now at Nigeria and I’ve even met another Nigerian on board my flight to Lagos earlier. Sony and I pretty much talked about Nigeria and the perceptions the country has received thus far, mostly negative, from international people abroad.

I’m currently staying at Check Inn Hotel in Ibadan, Oyo State. Very nice place. The bed is quite comfy too…

Till I write again… Watch this space for more.
