Craft Brews for Good Beer and Food
Apr 25th
If you want good food and of course beer as well, head over to Craft Brews at Damansara Perdana. Was invited by Jen for a nice preview of this lovely place.
This place is like “the” place to try out new beer once you are bored with Tiger, Heneiken or Guiness. Craft Brews offers you unique experience of trying out some of the best home brew from microbreweries around the region.

Craft Brews’ collections of beers are in collaboration with Reddot, a Singapore based brewhouse.

These are the four beers I tried on that day. I personally like English Ale.

The food, oh my… I can tell you that the food there is fabulous. Maybe Craft Brews decides to cook up the best of ‘em all but still, yummy! I could at least borrow the tag line of KFC now, finger licking good.

I can sum the environment dining there with 3C. Cool, Cozy and Chic. I would love to head back there anytime, maybe for a nice date there.

There’s a wall in the interior that shows you the process of brewing beer. Talk about educating their customers. Not a bad idea for a deco tho…

The preview night ended with some games of telling the difference of the beers while blindfolded.

Thank you Craft Brews for the lovely night.

BLOOD: The Last Vampire + Drama + Rant
Jun 11th
I was at Nuffnang’s Party & Premiere Screening of BLOOD: The Last Vampire.
I went there late as there was a big big “drama” before that. Friend called for emergency as he has won something. He needs me to be there because him, being the staff there can’t claim the prize. The prize comes in four digits and it’s in cold hard cash. So, I’m just the dummy. I don’t get a cut so, don’t ask. Well actually, I haven’t even ask about my cut.
He needs the money badly lah, so consider him luck then.
I was running late. I made it to Cineleisure in 15 minutes from KL. To make things more dramatic, my petrol light was blinking and it has been blinking since evening when I came back from Palace of the Golden Horses. I drove in “high speed” from Jalan Sultan Ismail to Cineleisure to make sure I make it in time. Lagi worst, my guest was there already! Anyways, all is cool. I made my “grand” entrance into the cinema and found myself a seat in third row from the screen. Sadness.
Back to this movie…

I think, the movie is good. Not too bad. Reason why is because I didn’t anticipate much on the outcome but rather anticipated a rather ok or good movie. I did not read the or watch the anime version of it so I rather not comment further. But basically, I like the fighting scenes lah. I actually do like it until I see a lot of censorship. Which, pretty much killed the whole anticipating of watching a good movie. So yeah…
In my own personal point of view. When you rate 18SG. You freaking NOT CENSOR it. Why? you stupid censorship board is undermining our age is it? Why even rate 18SG when you can’t think logically that those who are watching this movie is going to be a mature crowd.
The whole gist of this movie and why people watch it is because of the sword fighting scene. People like me watch this because of the “body chopping” scene! When you censor it, it is more or less like cheating our money and I feel that we as cinema goers should ask for refund then. Because, what I am paying is for a full movie, but you people in the “you know where you are” have to come up with some rather nonsensical ruling of censoring certain parts of the movie.
Pardon me, but HOW STEWPID lah!
I wouldn’t blame Columbia Pictures or the director and what not lah because my sentiment is not towards this movie BLOOD: The Last Vampire, but other movies as well lah. I feel the makers for this movie has done a great job.
That is why when these kinda censorship happens, we go all out to buy pirated DVDs to watch. Myself, I rather just wait another month and download it off Torrent rather than contributing to Malaysian economy which doesn’t even justify the purpose and final outcome.
Oh wells, you can watch the trailer here embedded from YouTube.
Okay… enough of ranting… Go watch this movie while you can, wherever it might me.
Mega Hotel, Miri
Jan 12th
This is Mega Hotel in Miri, Sarawak.
First time staying at this hotel.

Nice Twin Room and I get FREE WiFi. Just call the hotel reception for the password and they will give it to you. The room is superbly cold and even if I turn it up the temperature to hot, it is still very the cold!

Blanc Le Club @ Asian Heritage Row
Jan 8th
I’m sure many of you have heard about this new club, Blanc Le Club.
I’ve written about their opening on the 17th December 2008 previously.
Taking over the space which used to be Atrium, this club’s concept is Chic.

Once you enter, on your right, you will two sofa seats space.

The music in this club is loud, because of the smaller space they have here. I think, I will go deaf when the max the beat of the music here. Guess that’s what clubbing is all about eh?

They have quite a big dance floor. Don’t compare to the other clubs, the dance floor space here can accommodate quite a number of people. Given, it’s not a huge club itself.

Beside the dance floor, there is a huge VIP area. Very chic…

Then, the other opposite is where the crowd convene and a bar to churn out every night’s demand for alcohol.

Up and above, is the DJ console, where the picture you saw above.

I just like the lighting here already!!!

There is a ’sky-bridge’ in Blanc. This bridge connects the two separated ends of the 1st floor of the club. AND, this mini bridge is a danger for the ladies with mini skirt.

There is also a bar upstairs to churn out ‘unlimited’ supplies of alcohol too…

So yeah! There you go, Blanc at Asian Heritage Row.
My summary is that, this is a small club that delivers both service and music. Don’t need to say about ladies, as this club attract ladies with its current setup.
I leave you here with the numbers to call should you want to know more about Blanc. Don’t ask me, as I’ve just another visitor to Blanc.

A Review of Bondi Beach Bar & Grill…
Dec 6th
I was called by CS one day and he told me that he has moved from Mardi Gras to this new place called Bondi Beach. At first, I thought he is calling me from Bondi Beach, Sydney. -_-
I have left the F&B for so long already now. No longer keeping touch on what is going on in the F&B arena. CS called me and asked if I still have the contacts for food PR peeps. I told him nope, but I have a pool of people who can write about his place and he can treat it as online marketing.
I remembered well that I kept on forgeting about getting people over to his place.
I was so busy that I appointed two runner to call people on my behalf. Aaron and Joshua. Wait, I rope in Yatz too, cause he was online. It was really a hell, and I was like multi-tasking between this, my work and IC2009. Crazy…
So, back to Bondi Beach. This is my first time coming to this part of The Curve. It is situated just beside Bubba Gumps.
Bondi Beach is a Grill & Bar. The concept is pretty much a laid-back, backyard cooking kinda style restaurant.

Used to be the Indian restaurant called Colonial something…

This place is just cozy… Cozy enough for your friends to come together after a long day’s work and chill out and talk about life… -_-

They have a small oval or rather round area outside the restaurant. It is facing the Bubba Gump restaurant.

What you are seeing here is just about 60% complete, their renovation. They have their guys at Aussie to bring back some settings to make this whole place feel like you are at Bondi Beach in Sydney. Not really 100% exactly but at least, you will have the feel.

They even have a DJ playing latest trend musics to keep the mood alive…

But then, that night, the DJ just played the music which doesn’t suit the mood. He really needs to improve in the sense that he needs to put his shoes as the customer who come in and dine and what they are listening is BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!. Why not they go Sanctuary rather than Bondi right?
Now, seen the place enough. Not quite I bet. You need to be there to feel the atmosphere. Let’s look at the food that they have. The ones I’m going to show you are their “trademarks” dishes. Where, people would say, you have not been to Bondi Beach Bar & Grill if you don’t give these dish an order.
We were served first Grilled Oysters topped with Buttery BBQ Sauce.

This is not too bad. Very fresh and with their sauce, I don’t even get to taste the raw taste.
Next in line was the Prawn Pinwheels – Spiced Tiger Prawns grilled, on a bed of curle endives.

I liked the prawn. I’m very particular with prawn. But this, the Tiger Prawn was just, YUM! When you bite it, it is just solid.
The chef whip out some royal rumble dish later on. It was the Seafood Kebab with Dill – Tiger Prawn, soft-shell crab, squid, tengiri, courgette, cherry tomato served with tartar sauce.

Nothing to shout about for this dish, but, it is just kinda unique to serve this dish. Oh! in all the dishes, comes with small garnishing of vegetable, potatoes and tomatoes. I like the tomato the best. OMG! It is so orgasmic! When you bite the tomato, the juice just BURST into your mouth and you just want more and more! I’m so SERIOUS!
Moving on, we have Salmon fish. I didn’t ask where they got this, maybe its Australian imported.

Hmmm… this is one nice piece of Salmon. Again, the raw taste doesn’t hit into my taste bud. It is just nice.
The same dish that came together with the Salmon fish was, Fillet of Dory.

One of my all time favourite fish. The dory fish meat are usually very smooth. What’s more when it is grilled?
Continuing the dishes, we have two of Bondi Beach’s mains…
Rib Eye and Sirloin on separate dish, served with their famous ‘homemade’ sauce.

When CS told us that we have to pay for the sauce, I got kinda like shocked! HUH? Need to pay. The point put forth was, it is our very own taste bud that we want to suit. So, we pay for the taste that we want. The meat can go with any sauce, but not many may like the typical common Black Pepper Sauce. What’s the cost of each sauce? It is RM 3 and worth the money.
They serve us with three of their many sauces available. Bondi BBQ, Musroom and Black Pepper. Among others are Roasted Tomato Salsa, Lemon Herb Butter, Cajun Remoulade and Le De Paris.

To end our dinner, Bondi Beach served us two of their best dessert. Of course, serve us the best la, where got people serve you cheapo dish for a food review, right? But then again, let me divert a little bit.
The main man behind this restaurant is a Korean and he has his vast experience in F&B. His philosophy is, doesn’t matter if he needs to waste a badly grilled steak to create another perfect steak. It is the quality and service that Bondi Beach wants to deliver to each of their customer.
This is the kind of restaurant I would want to dine in, like seriously. I’ve no doubt of their service. Some of their people there I know are from other places and I’ve known their service level.
OKAY, back to dessert. We were served first Honey Grilled Banana with Coconut Flakes and secondly Apple Cinnamon Comb.

If I am not having my dinner here at Bondi Beach Bar & Grill, I will be having my dessert here. Definitely! Personally I like the latter best. The Apple Cinnamon Comb was the favourite of the night in the dessert category. I just can’t get enough of it and I’m already craving for it now!! OH NO!!!
It was a nice outing and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Last minute plan doesn’t turn out that bad either eh?
These are the peeps there that night…

Maybank2U Changing its Skin…
Oct 2nd
Maybank2u has kinda changed the way I do banking. It used to be over the counter kinda service which I always go to. But when it comes to over the counter service, Maybank is not my priority, but Public Bank. Reason is a two huge different world to compare on. Number 1 would be service. The rest, better explained while we meet.
The only reason why I use Maybank is due to the convenience of the branches they have all over and of course their intensive online banking. Oh, not to forget, salary gets into Maybank account.
Recently they got an uplift on their website and this is how it looked like!

Damn kewl right? I know…
Come, let’s have a few comparison with their pages. This is their login pages. New and old.

See the big difference? Again… YES I know.. So the nice…
Their whole internal page also has gone to a whole new level of transformation.
I heart their new look… SEE the New and Old…

I tried their system, and it has proven to work without any bug. Sometimes, its a little bit slow because they are still on beta testing to ensure that all links and whatever backend support is working right as it should be.

It is a big giant leap! They whole interface has more “international” corporate look now, compared to the current and old version which is more like a “cinapek” design, adopted by businesses back in the early 90s. Hahahah
Eagle Eye @ GSC One Utama
Sep 30th
First and foremost, thanks to Edmund and Gabriel of Absolut Pitch for offering me three tickets to catch this wonderful movie. Absolut Pitch is a company that does costume designs and they all range of costumes from kinky outfit (heh) to any anime cosplay costume to even Iron Man! Their inventory, endless. You will get to know about them soon.
The other two tickets, I got Pam and Ah Beng Beng *grins* to come along…
Oh, Beng and I didn’t get to play tootsie together again.. cause we were separated by one level away. hahaha -_- Okay, don’t judge something you think it is.. I’m still straight.. sometimes, need to sway a little for some fun.. -_-

Now, this movie rocks my socks! Period.

Somehow, it is has some similarity towards Terminator. Remember how Terminator was conceptualized over the plot of a “computer” that has outsmart itself and decides to takes its own judgment on the human race?
Yes, Eagle Eye has the same kinda plot, but with much better effects and much more real in the sense of the latest technologies and what not.
Definitely one of the must watch movie alongside with Dark Knight. I don’t know which one to rate higher, but heck… Give it a go!
The action starts when someone starts running, and that keeps the adrenaline pumping!
YapRating @ 8.5/10
(oh me god, I’ve just created a new term. YapRating. Wonder what’s next?
Punggok Rindukan Bulan Opens Today
Sep 25th
About one month ago, I was invited by Da Huang Pictures to the press screening of Punggok Rindukan Bulan, which directly translate to “Owl Misses the Moon” in English. The screening title in English is “This Longing”.

This film about a boy, barely in secondary school, Sidi and his father Adman, who both unknowingly cope with the sudden absence of a key female figure in their life. Set in the border town of Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This film also features a building which is being set to be demolished right after this filming.

I find this film very special. If you are into alternative films, then give this a try. You might not like it 100% but maybe 70%. You need to appreciate films like this to really enjoy it. Not many would like it tho, as said by the Producer Amir Muhammad. It is a very niche market this film is targeting.

It is a lil bit slow throughout the whole duration of 1 1/2 hours of the film. You will be brought from the day how Sidi (Saeful) faced with the absence of his mother Umi (Maya Karin). How he endured his days, missing his mother. It actually brings me to the thought of how if my mom is not here with us anymore. How would I be missing her so much. How? Just like how this film is being made.

Remember I mentioned above, this film evolves around a low cost building that would be demolished. The scene is set right in the middle of Johor Bharu city, down south of Peninsular Malaysia.

The film also tells about the story Sidi and his two other friends whom he hangs out with all the time. Remy (Muhammad Haqim) and Arman (Mohd Izzul Azmi). They roam the city at nights, they go skateboardings and many more.
There is a short Q&A after the movie film and there you go, some pictures for you all to see. ![]()
No shots with Maya Karin… Didn’t take any…

Oh Mamma Can Sing and Dance!!!
Sep 23rd
Yesterday I had a chance to watch Mamma Mia. Its gonna be one of the best Musical Movie I’ve ever watched after Phantom of the Opera. I would better than Phantom of the Opera. I’m saying as a fan of ABBA, as I grew up with the musics, thanks to my dad.
Mamma Mia has got to be the right title for the movie. It is the all time best single hits ever sold by ABBA and its the song that some would say, saved them from extinction. Maybe I’m wrong.
Meryl Streep is Donna Sheridan can Sing and Dance!!! I mean, of course she can…
What a total opposite from her act in Devil’s Wear Prada.
I seriously think her voice replicates the ones of Agnetha and Frida.

Its like you can see the fun and craziness in her in the movie.

What not with the two crazy single loving friends, Rosie (Julie Walters) and Tanya (Christine Baranski) who are part of their so called group Dynamo! -_-

The movie is about Sophie Sheridan (Amanda Seyfried) who is going to get married and she wanted to know who is her father. She invited Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), Harry Bright (Colin Firth) and Bill Anderson (Stellan Skarsgard) over to her wedding without her mom, Donna’s notice.

Now, spot the ABBA in this picture taken during Mamma Mia reception in Sweden.
![]()
Talking about spotting ABBA, did you know that ABBA did appear in the movie on a cameo??? I only recognize Benny, in the part where Donna started dancing to the song of Dancing Queen and they pass this guy playing on the piano. That’s Benny Andersson and Wikipedia reconfirmed my earlier assumption during the movie.
Watch this Featurette..
My summary for this movie is
“It’s so good that I wanted to stand and dance and sing along, but thinking that I will make a mockery out of myself, I sat quietly and enjoyed the show”
What’s your best song from the movie??
The one song I am hooked particularly.. Super Trouper!
Thanks Nuffnang for the tickets!!
Finally I can bring Ah Beng out!! -__-
