All I can say is, please all of you, pray for the country for we have a bigger threat for the nation than terrorism itself. Maybe he doesn’t have any Weapon of Mass Destruction, but the words this “honorable” gentleman used can qualify as a nuclear weapon, in my own opinion.

Wonders what will our very beloved Prime Minister will do after he attended the nuclear summit to extract this “very dangerous weapon” in Malaysia. It could be a weapon for the other way round, no one knows. I’m just saying without fact, don’t sue me. One can always guess and I’m just doing that, guess.

The vicinity of the Perak state secretariat building today was gripped with high drama for about four hours as Pakatan Rakyat tried to convene an emergency state assembly sitting.

Rush hour traffic was brought to a crawl and students were seen running to a nearby school as their parents could only drop them at a roadblock.

Other than the heavy police presence, little was out of the ordinary until a group of some 30 burly men started to shout profanities at some 100 Pakatan supporters gathered near the state secretariat building.

The Pakatan supporters backed off slightly, but that didn’t stop the group of aggressive men, though vastly outnumbered, from shouting profanities. (more in Malaysiakini)

I’m sorry to say that Zubedy’s open letter has eventually fallen into the deaf ears. Maybe, someone needs to come up with an open letter to our Malaysian political clowns so that it hits them right into their brain. Most of those clown’s skin are too thick to take simple and humble words of Zubedy. Like seriously.

If I’m the Sultan of Perak, I will immediately tell those jokers in the Perak State to pack up and go home and sleep. Stay home, indefinitely. When I say those jokers, I mean those jokers from both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat. If our politicians can’t act admirably, where you think the citizens learn their brutal acts from? The politician! Yes! You are correct!!!

So, why not, let me write an open letter here in my humble blog to our Malaysian politicians, with much lower fee for the world to see.

Dear Malaysian Politician Idol Contestants,

I have to add in “Idol Contestants” because, the show that you guys are putting up are much better than watching American Idol. If we were to make a film out of it, it will totally beat Slumdog Millionaire just like how David beats Goliath.

As a Malaysian citizen, I don’t understand why is there a need for power grab in Perak. Why is one seat in a state government makes you people fight like angry dogs who was thrown one huge bone. Pardon my words, but it’s just how I am feeling right now at this point of time. Angry!

Even, us citizens wants the best seats in the cinema also have to line up. First come first serve lah! Bloody hell. Simple logic also can’t understand and you want to lead the citizens? Pfft!!!

Excuse me, don’t throw all your political jargon to me now and just shut up and do your work. When I said, do your work I mean, go back to where it was and sit back, relax and serve us our tea. Yes, us, citizens whom you are suppose to serve. Not some party flag who tells you where you seat and what you do, what you talk.

If not for us, do you even think your party flag can even touch the flag pole? Pfftt!! You will be holding your party flag tightly in your arms or kept in your car boot instead.

I don’t know much about democracy, what I’ve known is demoCRAZY and I have to thank you ‘Politician Idols‘ for it. Because, I’ve not even seen much of a democracy in Perak or Malaysia for long now. All I kept listening and reading in the papers are drama this and that.

If you have been championing for a fair country, with equality in all aspects of living, why can’t Perak enjoy the same fate as Penang? I remember once I saw a video of Datuk Seri Najib doing all the “Yes, endorse me as your PM and you will enjoy living in Malaysia” kind of video. Bah! What happened to all the values he has mentioned in there?

How the whole drama and fun fare begins in Perak, everyone knows. I don’t have to explain it anymore.

If you think you are that good, prove us that you are. Why choose to seat somewhere where we the citizens don’t want you to sit? You don’t like Lim Ah Kau sitting in Bandar Longkau, that’s your problem! Citizens of Bandar Longkau likes Lim Ah Kau there. So, you Abu Bakar from Bandar Terbakar go back and do your homework! Gain our confidence again why you should be voted to seat at Bandar Longkau.

In this time of economy, yes, it’s good that you put up some drama to ease our sorrows because of the downturn. But, please lah, we already have so many dramas in Astro to watch. We don’t need to pay you to put up some drama for us AND we are already paying you to get your job done by making sure the environment we live in is conducive enough for us to enjoy our daily life. Enough already for the drama in the Parliament!

So, please stop all this Politician Idol chasing drama and work on improving our daily living conditions. You want to know what I face in my daily life?

The city is congested with so many buildings but not enough parkings!
The public transportation is like a the state of the art? Think again!
Where are the DBKLs, MPPJs and MBBSs when we need them to summon the errant drivers!
Why the toll rates going up again!? Why is there a toll system in the first place!
Why are the roads in such bad condition! Where are the road taxes going?

I’ve got a longer list but, hey, have I not bore you enough? Now, get back to work!

It was the first day of 2nd Annual Malaysian Student Leaders Summit 2008 and the heat was intense between the government and the students. MSLS is a summit where students from many different universities, be it local or international, coming together to be part of the agent of change for the better of their future here in Malaysia.

Started off with the officiating speech by YB Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin whose topic was “Student Activism as an Element of Human Capital Development“. I attended halfway of his speech partly because I was not keen and interested with the topic. I don’t know why.

Next in line is a forum on “Malaysian National Unity: Organic or Manufactured?” by two panelist, Royal Prof. Ungku Abdul Aziz (former VC of UM) and Khoo Kay Peng (political analyst). Some of the key points delivered during this forum was from Prof. Ungku who said that we need to strengthen our Malay Language to unite Malaysian. Also what was said that we Malaysian lack in communication and understanding between each other and we need to improve on that. It was also said that we need to forge national unity back in the school itself as it was pretty much dysfunctional in the sense of cultivating national unity.

I skipped the next topic, “Reconciling Religion and Genger: The Malaysian Context” as I had some urgency to attend to and party, this was not one of my favourite topic amongs all. Therefore, nothing to say about it then.

A break for lunch and then, it was Ministerial Address by our Education Minister, YB Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin on the topic “The National Education Blueprint: Addressing Racial Polarization adn Sustainable Economic Development“. Gosh! The kind of topic being thrown out!

This was pretty much interested only at the Q&A session, but during his speech, I was not really paying much of an attention, but I manage to capture some of the points that I think worth to write down. Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin said that racial polarization was a matter of history whereby it was nothing new.

The National Education Blueprint (NEB) which in its time frame (2006-2010) is to relook into the ways of teaching, which is currently too academic. Some of the things that were being mentioned was to reassess UPSR and class base examination.

To enhance governence in school, the MOE has appointed 60 schools’ head of administrator to attend courses overseas and come back to run the school independently. Giving more space and authority to these heads to run the school without getting authority time and time again from the MOE.

Another interesting topic brought up was the Moral Subject. Fellow student Andrew Loh gave his question on the relevency of Moral Studies in SPM and he mentioned that it is one of the few subject being reviewed in the NEB. Other questions also covers the perception of parents about the islamization of the school because of the teachings and custom and regulations. Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin’s reply was pointing to the non-muslim saying its being islamized while the muslim saying its too secular. Two different interest, too hard to please. Oh wells…

It was rather an interesting forum and I still think, we should have been allocated more time for the Q&A with Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin. Then, after this, it was the session many was waiting for.

It was a session with our beloved Prime Minister.

Pak Lah’s Keynote Address was “Holistic Development and The Role of Government“. Before his speech, he showed up a notes and commented how thick the notes was and thus went on giving his own speech, moving away from the intended keynote address topic. Some topics said was about how much we love our country, the need to strive together, the willingness to respect all races, no hatred, talked about “perpaduan” (unity), then about the petrol prices that affected the increase in commodity price increased as well and how much it has also affected government’s budget, and that we should challenge ourselves to be better to even winning gold in olympics. How irrelevent?

Following this, Abdullah sought a clarification from the student who posed the question, apparently oblivious that the topic for his keynote address listed in the event’s itinerary was Holistic Development and the role of the Government.

“Holistic apa?… Where did I say so in my speech? Are you looking at it? Oh, you are (referring) to the title of my speech!” exclaimed Abdullah, leading to laughter, applause and then loud murmurs from the 500-odd participants.

He did not touch on the intended topic during his keynote address but instead delivered a 40-minute off-the-cuff address to the students on a wide range of topics.

I couldn’t believe actually what had happened. Maybe he was so busy that no proper speech was prepared. Who’s fault here is not at stake. Just how much proper communication should be taken an importance before delivering speech to students, whom Pak Lah regards as “future leaders”.

It was then Q&A after his speech and some of the questions asked were:

- In achieving 2020, are we on schedule?

- I wish to join the civil service, but the civil service doesn’t seem to be colour blind. What will be done to redeem the image of the civil service?

- Will there be more public debates between the cabinet members and the opposition on government policies?

- What is the role of the government in holistic development?

_ You have called yourself colour blind, but what is your view on our quota system? It is still more racial rather than community- based. Secondly, what is your views on protecting minorities rather than majorities?

- I want to know how do you feel about promises that you have not kept. I don’t want to know what you’re going to do, but I want to know how you feel, towards us, the people you are responsible for. (Su Ann asked this! Fuiyoh!! haha)

It was interesting to see how Pak Lah handle all the questions, and again, I do seriously think that PakLah should have spent more time with the students!

The day ends with the Industry and Corporate Forum “Malaysia’s Corporate Sector: Where do Malaysia’s Youth Fit In?“. I was looking forward to this forum as well… I’m in the corporate sector! -_-
The three panelist for this forum was Tengku Zafrul Aziz (CEO, Tune Money), Ahmad Shanizam (Director, Khazanah Nasional), Ruben Gnanalingam (Exec. Director, Westport Malaysia).

This forum was moderated and some of the questions put forth were
- How do you find the qualities in a person?
- How have it been for them in their corporate years?
- Any words to those who wants to get into the corporate world?

Ahmad’s view was to look for someone who work smart, work hard, with heart. Which was a view borrowed from the Finance Minister II, Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop. Ahmad added that, those who wants to be successful has to be someone who has good intention in what he does. To be different also, that person must make a change!

Tengku Zafrul’s view was similar as Ahmad’s, work hard and smart, believe in the company and believe that he can make a chage. More towards how much can you contribute to the company rather than how much can the company pays you. Look for the after-rewards once an achievement is made.

Ruben presses on that person should have passion in what they do with the right attitude. Also, to be successfull, that person has to be expert in a certain field before diversifying into different jobs.

Among other topics were about networking and all three panelist agrees that networking is the way forward, pretty much like who you know. Ahmad said that not necessary who you know, but what you know also counts. They said in the corporate world, we need to expand our network beyond our comfort zone and to know the people out there. Learn from them and more importantly, to know your peers first.

Agree very much on the networking part and pretty much reflected on me. Heh…

That wraps up the first day of MSLS 2008 and coming up soon is the debate of YB Khairy, YB Tony Pua and YB Nik Nazmi!

I am inspired in a way as a citizen of another country of their speech.

This is in reply to what I have read about how our new Information Minister want
to make love peace with us, bloggers.

Newly appointed Information Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek said he is keen to meet bloggers.

“I am trying to build a bridge between the government and the people so that we can have a two-way dialogue — and bloggers are a key part of this,” he told AFP.

“I am planning on meeting them soon,” he said.

I began to wonder, what took them so long to think we, bloggers, are a credential lot?

Penaga assemblymen Datuk Azhar Ibrahim, who is now opposition leader, said he will apply to the federal government to stop all mega projects such as the Penang second bridge, Monorail Transit System, Penang Outer Ring Road and to leave Penang out of the Northern Corridor Economic Region scheme. He told a press conference the Barisan Nasional government had promised all these to the people but yet they rejected the BN government by voting for DAP and PKR. “Let them see what DAP and PKR can do for them”, he said

They don’t want you to just give them Mega Projects, they want transparency, they want justice, they want fairness, they want better quality of life, they want more but you can’t deliver it to them. You don’t understand their problem but only yours!

You don’t need years to decide if Penang needs a second bridge or not. NO! Everyday! Every freaking single day the traffic report in the radio over a year has been echoing that Penang need 2nd bridge BADLY! Are you deft or what? Oh wait, sorry… you all use police outrider to literally shout “Fxck Off! Fxck Off!” to the drivers blocking your road. Oh no! I forget, you guys rather fly with your newly bought ‘government’ jet.

You see, these are the problems needs rectification. 5 years is a very long period and for 5 freaking years you never listen carefully what the people is saying. You rather go to the parliament and laugh at the opposition and jeer them of monthly leaking! Now, who is laughing at whom now and I bet you leak yourself that very night of 8th March or maybe you are shit bricks till your face turns purple?

The people want a change for good la… Malaysians don’t just vote the then opposition for nothing. If we eventually do, we are the one shitting bricks so why you care so much? Care about your own mega projects elsewhere la. Don’t come and cry like an ‘arse’ because the people don’t vote you in, you don’t give them the previously promised Mega Projects.

My natural alarm clock urged me to get up to vote and be heard in this general election.

I first tune to www.malaysiakini.com to catch up on election news. A final decision
making before I walk outside and disapprove (X) on a particular party.

Malaysiakini reported that it is a day for voters to decide their future and

“there are a total of 10,922,139 registered voters, of which 1,409,395 are first-time voters.”

Which I do think that my year falls on the first-time voters category. Well, many other
age range falls into the same category but given it a benefit of a doubt that most new
voters are like me in their early 80s and eager to vote.

In the same article I read, AAB’s word to Malaysians in a live TV3 broadcast reads

“Don’t be emotional… consider what the candidates contesting in the election can do. Think of our future… our children and grandchildren,”

How can we not be emotional eh? We are humans and we have out instinct. Today
I used my instinct to tell me that the party that I put my disapproval (X) on their logo
is going to be Malaysian’s hope.

So, I went to the poling station. It was rather a quite morning.

It was rather hard to decide who to vote earlier, but I made my choice.

It will be much easier if we have an independent candidate for my district like
Maimun Yusuf @ Tok Mun. I really like her courage. She is an example of a rep
whom we all should vote to represent us, as she is just an ordinary person like all of us.

What I find rather sad is that, when I check my registration with SPR before going
to the classroom, I found that there is not more than 20 young voters in their 80s
like me registered. A fact that must be rectified and YOUTHS should and must be
encouraged to vote!

Because you are the voice of the future. Why our state and country affair is non of
your business? I tell you why! Because YOU let it rot just like that without even
taking knowledge of what election is all about and sit behind and shake your leg.

Well, I couldn’t interfere with your own personal agenda but I do encourage you all
to vote. I saw my fellow Primary Schoolmate in the list when I check with SPR.
Immediately I called him and he says he will be going to vote! For who? I don’t care.
As long as he vote! It is a duty my dear fellow Malaysians!

Well, if you are not registered.. GE13 maybe?
If I am standing for election, YOU BETTER VOTE FOR ME!
