The Cool & Cold Korean
Feb 17th
Had a long day.
Had a craving for Korean thus we walked around and found Arirang.
I remembered that I was told that this restaurant is ‘the‘ restaurant for Korean food.
No, I am not gonna talk about the food I had, but instead, I will talk about ‘her‘.
Yes. ‘Her‘ I meant. A woman. In Arirang Korean restaurant.
Well, let’s say, 5% of the ‘yes’ to dine there was ‘her‘.
What’s so great about ‘her‘?
Hmmm…
She was outside the restaurant talking to another person with all smiles and when she finished, her face turned into a long cool and cold kinda expression. I don’t know how to be exact to explain about this expression but, it is the killer…
She seems to be the manageress of this restaurant, as she seems to be behind the cashier; running all over the restaurant; manning the bar; running the orders in and out and also giving orders at times to her work mates.
She does everything! She cleans the tables, she takes orders, she makes coffee, she makes dessert and etc. The kind of manager who runs the front and back of the house. Now, that’s what F&B restaurant people should be doing. They do everything! Not just give orders.
I stole a few look at her during my dinner and she just seems so cool and cold. The kind of person that gives you the vibe that, if you even gave her a nudge to her arm, she will stab you to death kinda scenario? Hahaha. She is so serious into what she does that kinda vibe.
But, twice did she smile, she actually looked prettier. Tempted to just tell her “You should smile more. You look prettier with a smile on your face.” I dare not. Because some customer put her into boiling mode and she was boiling and when standing at the cashier, I could feel the boiling heat!
Oh! That customer that got her boiling, let me see her dark side, where she puts a confrontation to the customer and not let her guard down. Whoa! Killer woman… Stay away from angry woman. They will run you down, even if you’re friendly! hahaha
Her expression, her professionalism, her cool look, her cold expression and her smile…
Awwww…
It’s so rare. Well… I’ve known a few, but this, she is Korean. That makes her so special.
Hmmm… Maybe I should go for Korean again tomorrow.
*Okay my time is running out… More updates soon!!!*
Adopt A Miracle

I chance upon this video at Yasmin Ahmad’s blog at her recent post.
I hope all of you can view this wonderful SPCA Ad video.
Yasmin Ahmad wrote on her blog:
On the 29th of December, 2008, my crew and I shot this commercial in Ipoh. It was a one-day shoot, alhamdulillah.
I had written a script, based on the true story of Encik Shahrul’s family, or more specifically, of his youngest child, Adlan.
Adlan was an extreme autistic who, for 7 years, behaved like he was trapped in a bubble, unable to communicate with the outside world, and vice versa.
What finally brought him out of that state is shown in the commercial you see here.
The dog is the most misunderstood animal in this country. Its haters, I’m sad to say, are largely Malays who often don’t even know the difference between “haram” and “najis”, let alone the finer points and different degrees of najis.
With this little film, I urge my people to read more about the true Islamic rules concerning this beautiful creature of God, and to please refrain from being cruel to it.
Let’s do this for Allah.
Not any God has forsaken any creature in his creation. Just not any God.
An Ear and Some Words
Feb 11th
So back to my this post of thoughts and pondering…
“It is just inhuman to be cold”
If I am not mistaken, that statement was taken from the movie, The Prestige.
I have lived a life, where I’ve seen women being ill-treated as mere slaves of man.
A woman deserves to be treated equally in any manner how a man is being treated. Okay, maybe not how a man is being treated, cause not all man are treated well either. I think the point is to treat woman as a human to begin with. They are such a delicate being and uttermost, they deserve every respect from any man or any other woman.
Everytime, I hear real true story about how women are being ill-treated by their partners, or rather families…
It saddens me big time as some of them are friends whom I cherish, but I can’t do much. Well, you don’t really wanna put your hands into these kinda matters because, you either patch things up, or just destroy the many years of friendship.
Let’s put it in a scenario of a relationship, which is more common.
When you love a woman, you love her wholeheartedly.
You do not treat her as the subject of your abuse either physically or verbally. Never even you must take the woman you love for granted and never you forsaken her true love to you with your misbehavior behind her back.
It is traumatizing, and I am truly amaze how some woman can stand these inhuman acts of their man. Really! If it’s not damaging enough now, imagine if there were to be kids around them later on in their life?
I’ve seen with my own eyes, a friend who treats his women like slaves. Yes, that’s right, women. Five of them. He even has his own time to bring each one out at different day of the week without the others’ knowledge. His women listens to him like a dog, and obey his every word, even how bad he treats them. In the end, I think, maybe, the monies and sex? patch things up. I’ve never heard a word from this guy for years now as I have decided, this kind of friend is not worth keeping.
I’ve even heard and known about relationships where the man would throw tantrums at her, he would ‘threaten’ to end the relationship, he would ignore her words and many more one could never even imagine. It is those kind of relationship which the woman has the most disadvantages but she still keeps on struggling to make it work. I don’t see a point.
When I see and hear any inhuman acts of either women or men, I somehow would relate them straight to their parents. Because I believe that, how a person carries himself in their life is all thanks to their parents. Why I say parents? Let’s just put it that, I’ve seen quite to enough to put it that way. It’s the home and upbringing of a person that contributes a certain percentage towards a person’s character.
I ain’t no expert in the field of love and relationship but hey, you don’t need to be an expert to learn these acts of being a gentleman and loving the woman of your life wholeheartedly.
Why these kind of cold blooded men exist around us? To keep the yin and yang?
Sigh…
All these is happening around me…
and…
All I can do is lend an ear and share some words…
Grant my BIG WISH, PLEASE…
Dec 31st
I want to do something different this coming new year…
Ever since I’ve started listening to LiteFM’s Top 1000 New Year countdown, I’ve came across their “Gift Of Love” programme. It struck me that, hey, I know KIDS Home and hey, what a coincidence day too!
Like I said, I’m going to do something different. I’m gonna give some gifts of love.
I’m getting Cindy Angelia Yee Fung a tracksuit. I wanted to grant her three Christmas wishes, but Rex of LiteFM told me that why not grant three children their wish instead of one.
I totally agreed when he suggested that and I am getting Jacob a Guitar and Simon a T-Shirt.
It’s easy to do so. Call in anytime (03-9543 3333) during 9am-5pm to tell them you want to grant any of the children their wish or you can fax your willingness to grant the children their wish by faxing your details and whom among the 56 children you want to buy a gift for. The fax number is 03-9543 3006.
I’ve visited Rumah KIDS back when I was in the Interact Club. Long time ago, more than 10 years now. Still remember that the head was Mr. Anbu. Don’t know if he is still there running the show. But anyways, history will remain, but I want to just add on another chapter into my history by doing just this…
My other wishes can wait, but these kid’s wishes are to be granted first!!

Hunting and Tracking Someone!
Dec 18th
I’m on a hunt.
Man hunt to be precise!
It is not that hard to track someone down, these days.
Desperate moments calls for desperate measures.
A respect and trust is to be earned. You didn’t earn my respect and trust!
You will be surpise when I say hie to you! Just wait…
You will surely be embarazed!
I will make sure you do, depending on how you response…
BLOODYHELL!!!
Just because you are famous, you think you can run? No way man…
Taking a Chill…
Dec 16th
December is a crazy month. I tell you!… CRAZY!!
A week ago, I read that Shelley Leong is coming back… I booked my day to make sure I will not miss her performance. It was a Songwriter Showcase night.
Anyways, took a 2 hours break from the crazy paperwork and walked over to No Black Tie.
It is not very often she comes back to KL okay! The last I met Shelley was when she was also singing at No Black Tie on the 3rd January 2008. What a coincidence…

(taken by Shelley)
I walked in, grab a seat. Just right in front of the DJ console. NBT’s staff came and told politely to grab a smaller table as I was alone. I obliged and went upstairs. Furthermore, I’m alone. No qualms.
Grab a seat near the railing and I have ‘bird’s eye view’ of the stage.
A group of youths were sitting opposite me while beside my small sturdy table was a group of working adults drinking wine. They all gave me the same bloody vibe with their look…
“This fella must be damn sad, sitting there alone with a bottle of beer”
Who cares? I’m here for Shelley’s performance and it’s all that matters..
I was a little late. Zalila Lee is finishing her final three sets of song.
Shelley took the stage soon after and began singing.
She sang So Good, Innocent Girl, Forgiveness and ended with a nice score of Big Machine on the piano. (I like that performance, of all). She did two previews of her up and coming songs namely Dear Eliza and Nine Lies (Lies or Lives?)
Big Machine wraps up her performance of the night at approximately 10.30ish.
Took my drink, went down to say hie.
A short chat and off I go. Checked-out my bill and it was a short chill night…
Shelley, if you are reading this, your music sounds a lot more different with the little tinge of accent you’ve picked up. Still, it was nice. Next time, when you are back in KL, stay longer! Glad to meet you again… ![]()
Kids.. oh Kids…
Nov 20th
I was at one of my favourite dinner spot earlier and I saw two kids talking to each other…
More like they are getting to know each other and finding each other’s interest…
Doesn’t seem to work out well tho.
Boy 1 is a Caucasian mix Chinese. I’m telling from his parents sitting opposite me.
Boy 2 is a local Malaysian Chinese, very fluent in English.
I sat down at my table and they were both just beside me. I couldn’t help but to listen to their conversation and it lit a smile on my face… How cute and innocent. I’m guessing they could be 5 yrs and above.
Boy 1: You know, you can build houses, building and even use the tractor.
Boy 2: I like this one. I can use that sword and kill the enemy. The sword got magic.
Boy 1: I can even build a railway track! It goes around the city…
Boy 2: The hero can do this *shows move*. Very fun and exciting!
Boy 1: I got bike racing game… Very nice you can “vrroommm vroommm”
Boy 2: I play transformers. You can change from this *action* to this *action*…
Boy 1: Transformerssss…?? It’s kinda hard.. Hey! Come! Catch Me!
Both kids ran around the 5-foot way in front of the shop where I was sitting together with a few other patrons. It was a cool night, just after a downpour.
I smile at the fact that both of the kids seems to be communicating but not. One is talking about A another about B. What a different world both of them have.
I want to be like kids again…
I can be innocent and have all the fun in the world I want…
Breaks a vase, pulls a puppy face and act innocent with no guilt and be forgiven!
-_-
Kids.. oh Kids…
The Street Cobbler
Apr 9th
When I was young, mom will never fail to visit the street cobbler at Jalan Taiping, Klang every month to mend our broken or torn shoes. Her heels being the most as she was working last time.
I remember those times when we will always go to KL every weekend just to walk around and maybe shop, she will always drop of the torn shoes to the cobbler there at the corner of Jalan Taiping, Klang. We will collect it when we come back towards the evening or the next day.
We will then take the bus all the way to KL and walk around Chinatown. Well yeah, that’s where I would go always mostly every week just to go around Chinatown and mom will shop while I just follow suit. I will not forget the time that we MUST buy a bowl of ‘Mata Kuching’ and also my favourite ‘Apom Balik’ for dad. Then, the ‘Chee Cheong Fun’ which is at one corner is a must not miss back then. I can’t remember which corner but when I’m there I know. I hope it is still there…
Well, back to the street cobbler. My shoe has a ‘mouth opening’ on the sole and I am too stingy to buy a new one. Then I thought that hey, I can get it amended by the street cobbler.
It has been in my mind map that there is one pakcik cobbler who sits at the corner of Wisma Cosway (formerly Wisma Stephen) and wait for his customers all day from morning till late afternoon. His business is always brisk and nearly 70% of his customers are women.

See the big mouth there?:P

Pakcik putting on the glue…
In KL, you can mostly find one or two in busy areas and they have been there for quite some time. They are expert in what they do and it is always cheaper to get them fix your shoe rather than the more expensive cobbler in some shopping malls. Well, unless you have your Prada or Jimmy Choo then, might as well get it fix at the shopping mall cobblers.

a cobbler’s cari makan tools…
As I packed my lunch back to office to eat, I thought, why not I send it to him. It took not more than 30 minutes to get my shoe done. All he does was just paste a new layer of sole onto the worn out one and I’m good to walk…

cut out the excess sole…
It was cheap and well, I can’t complain for being stingy although his work was jus to scrap, apply glue, knock it together and cut excess patch. It was just for a mere RM 10 for a pair of shoe.
Do you patron the street cobblers?
Or you just throw your shoe away and buy new one?
‘Mata Kuching’ = a refreshing drink typically liken by most Malaysian
‘Apom Balik’ = toasted condiments with nuts and sugar and flour
‘Chee Cheong Fun’ = ‘Rice Flour Strip’
