It was in January 2008 where (read about my visit) I visited this small refugee home and I took this video below. Watching it again, I miss this place and I do hope they are still around, with better support of course.

Then, recently I found out that there is a drama and documentary made about the Burmese refugee here in Malaysia.

I can’t remember where I picked this up, but I knew that I saved it in my “Read Later” Tab on Firefox.

The Drama
HOME is a short drama about the journey of Burmese refugee Roi Roi’s search for a home in Malaysia.

The Documentary
Many Burmese refugees flee to Malaysia to escape the tyranny of their country’s military junta. Despite surviving a grueling journey across the borders of Thailand and Malaysia, many find themselves victims of human rights abuse and human trafficking in Malaysia. This is a documentary that unveils the heartbreaking stories of Burmese refugees in Malaysia through testimonials of their horrific experiences.

There will be a film screening this coming 23rd October at The Annexe Gallery at 8.00 PM. It is presented by SUARAM and for further info, you can call 03-77843525 (SUARAM).

Unfortunately, I can’t make it to this event… as I will be flying off in approximately 20 hours to a perfect “honeymoon” with my love one.

Can someone please update me on the outcome of this drama and documentary if you happen to be there. Pwweeassseeeee…

Oh and the bin? It is for me to cover that murderer’s head from behind. I will be sneaking up to the murderer from the back, cover the head and stab with the “knife”…

Went for Harry Potter yesterday and you know what?

Of course you don’t!

I couldn’t remember how many times I fell asleep in the cinema.

Yes, FELL ASLEEP! -__-

Like seriously. I mean, I like Harry Potter movies but this latest installment is so freaking slow that I fell asleep!

No offence to you Harry Potter fans out there. But IT IS REALLY A SLOW movie this one.

Should have watched a Thriller instead and keep this movie for my “home theater”…

I went there late as there was a big big “drama” before that. Friend called for emergency as he has won something. He needs me to be there because him, being the staff there can’t claim the prize. The prize comes in four digits and it’s in cold hard cash. So, I’m just the dummy. I don’t get a cut so, don’t ask. Well actually, I haven’t even ask about my cut. He needs the money badly lah, so consider him luck then.

I was running late. I made it to Cineleisure in 15 minutes from KL. To make things more dramatic, my petrol light was blinking and it has been blinking since evening when I came back from Palace of the Golden Horses. I drove in “high speed” from Jalan Sultan Ismail to Cineleisure to make sure I make it in time. Lagi worst, my guest was there already! Anyways, all is cool. I made my “grand” entrance into the cinema and found myself a seat in third row from the screen. Sadness.

Back to this movie…

I think, the movie is good. Not too bad. Reason why is because I didn’t anticipate much on the outcome but rather anticipated a rather ok or good movie. I did not read the or watch the anime version of it so I rather not comment further. But basically, I like the fighting scenes lah. I actually do like it until I see a lot of censorship. Which, pretty much killed the whole anticipating of watching a good movie. So yeah…

In my own personal point of view. When you rate 18SG. You freaking NOT CENSOR it. Why? you stupid censorship board is undermining our age is it? Why even rate 18SG when you can’t think logically that those who are watching this movie is going to be a mature crowd.

The whole gist of this movie and why people watch it is because of the sword fighting scene. People like me watch this because of the “body chopping” scene! When you censor it, it is more or less like cheating our  money and I feel that we as cinema goers should ask for refund then. Because, what I am paying is for a full movie, but you people in the “you know where you are” have to come up with some rather nonsensical ruling of censoring certain parts of the movie.

Pardon me, but HOW STEWPID lah!

I wouldn’t blame Columbia Pictures or the director and what not lah because my sentiment is not towards this movie BLOOD: The Last Vampire, but other movies as well lah. I feel the makers for this movie has done a great job.

That is why when these kinda censorship happens, we go all out to buy pirated DVDs to watch. Myself, I rather just wait another month and download it off Torrent rather than contributing to Malaysian economy which doesn’t even justify the purpose and final outcome.

It was a great movie meet and by far, it’s the largest crowd ever! 35 people came!

Little did I know that such a random planning sparked from a small planned controversy is now like a super big thing now. Let’s just see how far can this BMM go lah, say there would be BMM10?

But oh wells… seems like the essense of all these has changed so much over the past year…

I once knew this guy who dates a lot of random girls at one go. He is a big player and of course, he has the money. His money doesn’t come clean and let’s just say each night, he can spend more than RM 500 on either food, entertainment or alcohols.

I have seen him at his ‘peak’ with 8 girlfriends at one go. Oh, and each of his girlfriends obeys him like ‘bitch’. (What? That’s a female term of dog mind you.) Till the day he lost all of them.

I pity each one of them. Though, I’ve only met like 5 out of the 8.

He treats them like toy. Like seriously. He controls who they go out with, and control when they can go out with him. I was impressed at how he can keep all 8 of his girlfriends secret from one another. Oh wait, the key is to keep them apart far away from each other. That’s why he has got one girl in Klang, Subang, Damansara, Cheras and Johor. Yeap, there you go… the 5 girlfriends of his.

There came one time, Girl #1 found out about Girl #4 and oh gosh! I tell you, it was real havoc. But he took it like a man… He got bashed by both the girls on the spot. I don’t know at that time, I should be laughing at the ‘cat fight’ or pity him…

Oh wells, time has past, last I know he kinda like moved on and settled with on. God knows how long that relationship of his last. I last saw him was more than a year ago. He is one of those friends which I would regard as, not important in my life.

I guess this movie pretty much relates to people like him…

I want to watch this movie… so gimme one pair of tickets please, Nuffnang

Happy First Anniversary DGMBians…!!!!!!!!

So fast time flies and I just felt that it was just yesterday that I met the bunch of crazy peeeple of DGMBians. It was just a random thought and suggestion with Pamsong after the Narymama and YapThomas drama that we do a movie meet with bloggers. Thus came the plan of the first Blogger’s Movie Meet (BMM).

It has been a year now. The GMail ‘thread‘ is now already reaching 30,000 emails of correspondence. Isn’t that crazy? All that we have shared and all that we have gone through in this small family is all there. We have the infamous ‘tokkokthread‘ which everyone of us rant there daily… and I think we should revive TKT 3 Word thread…

So, this is us, the DGMBians, as how we are fondly known in the Nuffnang community. Don’t get me wrong when I say that people wants to join DGMB. It’s like a club that people wants to join, but we ain’t no club. We are just random people who happened to come together and happened to adopt the nickname of Definitely Gang, Maybe Bang to actually ‘bang‘ Innit with our outing post. Say “ahhhh… now I get it…” There is no such thing as exclusive or what… all are welcome… we are very nice wan and we don’t bite..

So yeah. Music and Lyrics is a movie shown in 2007 and I’ve never seen it before. I had a good time watching it and I watched it twice last week itself. :p What? nice mah…

Starring Hugh Grant as Alex Fletcher and Drew Barrymore as Sophie Fisher, I like the whole plot of the movie. It is by watering Alex’s apartment plants Sophie got to know him. She interrupted when Alex was with Greg trying to compose a new song entitled Way Back Into Love for himself by the request of pop star Cora Corman.

Seeing how Sophie is good in her words, he asked her to be his lyricist.

I like this particular conversation between them:

Sophie Fisher: A melody is like seeing someone for the first time. The physical attraction. Sex.
Alex Fletcher: I so get that.
Sophie Fisher: But then, as you get to know the person, that’s the lyrics. Their story. Who they are underneath. It’s the combination of the two that makes it magic.

I feel that lyrics is more important than the melody. It is the lyrics that holds two individuals stronger. It is the lyrics that both individuals can sing till death do them apart.

Anyways… back to this movie…

I found out that Way Back Into Love is a great hit itself. Created by Adam Schlesinger, it is one beautiful piece of song which is also the theme song for this movie. I also like the surprise song Alex sang entitled “Don’t Write Me Off”. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Oh wells… Wait for it… tee hee…

Had to head back to office as there is some issue with 11thFloorOffice. The plan was to open up my system and let the 11thFloorOffice girl finish up the work. No. I had to wait till she finished then only I can leave.

The Girl arrived while I was in the midst of getting my work done. It has been a while since we had our long day outing. Last was, 2006? Wait, I think it was early 2007. Gah! Can’t remember.

Anyways, so late lunch was at Pepper Lunch. We had the Combo Cut Steak & Hamburger. The beef was so hard to chew!!! %#$%#@ But the hamburger was just fine. The bill came to RM 64. Crazy expensive for such lunch. The Girl vowed not to head back there, ever.

No prior plan on what to do was made. I went on with the simple, “Let’s see what we can do there” plan. Which is good. Don’t need to be sorry if any earlier plan didn’t work out.

Movie would be the best way to kill time. I opted for Marley & Me as there were a widespread of reviews on how good the movie is. Read Joshua’s review. I liked this movie. Shows how much we all need to plan for marriage and family. It is not easy to bring up a family, but with perseverance, a couple can strive on to build a wonderful family.

Still full from the late lunch, The Girl got a craving of tea. So we headed to Wong Kok Char Chan Theng. I must say, the setup of this place is very nice. Very very very very nice.

Midway, two plans came up. I need to head over to Sungai Wang to check out on phones and a birthday party to attend at Bangsar. Two of which I only realize while having my tea there at Wong Kok. Thanks goodness that I keep most “important” sms in my inbox, so that I will remember when I read my inbox.

Drove to Sungai Wang, did some scouting for Motorola V3i for my colleague and walked around for a bit.
Birthday girl wanted a chocolate cheese cake and I had to scout for it also. The things I do for my friends. Got it from Secret Recipe. Was about time to leave Sungai Wang for Bangsar and I faced a massive jam on the way out of the carpark. -_-

Took us more than one hour to reach Bangsar from Sungai Wang. Crazy! The jam was just massive lah. Gah! Reached D’Haven in Bangsar to join the others already there waiting. Hope you had a great time there Geralynn. And of course the cake also…

The night ended quick with a quick photo session. Drove The Girl back. Final plan was that to try her homemade coffee. Just to freshen me up before I drive back. Nope. Didn’t work. I slumped on the couch. Was a good sleep after a long day.

Woke up to a note on the table, left by The Girl.

I woke up pretty early on Sunday morning, with a very bad neckache. That’s to my super wonderful sleeping position on the couch. -_- The early morning was dreadful, hence, back to sleep. Woke up again just before noon. The Girl made the promised coffee and it was a good one. A powderful kick to start of the morning.

My turn to crave for dim sum, but it was just so-so only. Gah! I want good dim sum!

Work seems to be haunting me since the start of the weekend and it will not stop, even if it is Sunday. Sigh…

Finished up work and left The Girl’s place. Only to have met a hit and run accident, which I spent my whole afternoon helping the victim. Have to delegate work to my colleague during this ordeal.

What I said about work haunting me again? Gah! I need to put a stop on this matter. I need a better working equipments. A powerful handheld device which I can carry around and get my work done. Maybe a Nokia E71? Samsung Omnia? iPhone? or a Blackberry? Hmmm….

Spent the late afternoon at Starbucks SS2, online and getting my work done. The Boys decided to come up for dinner at Williams. Had Nasi Goreng Special with Two Types of Chicken. Yes, that’s the name of the dish.

The dinner was heavy. I can’t finish it. Jun came to the rescue.

I went back to Klang. Slept for a good 8 hours!
