Oldtown’s WiFi SUCKS!!!
Apr 13th
This is the second time Oldtown play its WiFi tricks with me again.
Bloody hell..!!
Internet not working wan..
Last time, they shut down on me..!!
BAH!!
Oh, I’m at Oldtown Avenue 8 btw. I’m using my ever helpful Celcom Broadband.
That also, sometimes it is not connecting. I need a RELIABLE internet to work on!
GAH!!!!
Update: 1140pm
If you are going to offer WiFi, make sure you give your fullest lah. Last I remember asking the store manager, I don’t know which store it is but yeah, they have a limited amount of people that can access to their WiFi router at one go. Or is it the service provider’s fault? I don’t know lah. I blame all parties involved! Cause I am paying for my food. Not to say I order ice lemon tea only everytime I go. I spend dinner or lunch there! Gah!
Not like you can’t get back your investment by fulfilling the needs of the people! Don’t tell me your cost of running a “kopitiam” is very high? Not like you are hiring Malaysians to serve your customers and you are already saving a lot on labour cost.
Last I was at Oldtown, it was at Sunway Mentari and it was even worst back then. You just shut off your WiFi just like a snap of a finger. At least have courtesy to tell your customer you are closing. We will understand that and we will leave. I was doing my work summore back then.
Is it so hard to satisfy this part of your customer’s request?

OOooooo What’s this…???

This is what I’m using right now, to be connected to the internet…
In about 10 hours, a whole new dimension to mobile internet will be unveiled.

Screaming Numbers
Feb 23rd
I’m back!!!! Miss me? :p Tell me you do! I know you do!
So, one week of enjoyment and now I’m back to reality. The reality of going all over the usual daily life routine of work, eat and play. More weight percentage on ‘work’. Sigh…
Speaking of which, I’ve got to attend to so many things…
All the numbers are screaming at me and I can hear from even while I’m in Aussie.
So here goes as I’ve gathered them after 1 hour of turning on my laptop…
Gmail = 74 unread mails
(That’s because I read most of them while I was away)
Work Mail = 129 unread emails
(This doesn’t include those in general circulation which is about 300 over)
Google Reader = 260 unread new posts
(Die! I’m so gonna spend my whole Monday reading all of them)
Credit Card Statement = PAY UP! PAY UP!
(I must leave my credit card behind when I travel. Dangerous!)
Bills = PAY UP! PAY UP!
(One week I’m away and I’ve been getting all bills on my table)
Si Liao Lah…
Lucky I had internet over the week. Constant connectivity is so crucial.
I need to hire a secretary already!!!
Wait, I already have one pending hire.

Living By Technology
Feb 11th
The past two days, I’ve been going so crazy over work.
I made a vow not to open my Gmail, Google Reader, MSN, GTalk and not do any internet surfing. I succeed. But felt contemplated to get online by leeching McD’s internet and made a post. Only did I made a post and that’s it. I swear!!
So, just a few minutes ago, I fire up Firefox and my few pre-set sites opened up.
I see
Hundreds of unread DGMB Thread Mails. These people suddenly got so talkative lately.
Tons of other emails in Gmail waiting for my response.
193 unread blog posts on Google Reader. Yes, I use Google Reader.
13 offline messages in MSN. Err.. sometimes, I appear offline.
Well, it has been busy. I had some not so good sleep during non-sleeping time slots.
It is all coming back again, where the season is catching up and the volume just shoots up.
Say, I’m out of office during daytime and reaches back during late evening.
Opens up my email and voila, another hundred or so waiting. Yes, I deal with more than a hundred of emails a day.
I wonder what will happen when I’m away on vacation next whole week.
I can foresee that when I open up my laptop the following week I’m back. All reminders will start popping up from the screen one by one.
Time to run and head back to paper-work. Ish! I hate paper-work.
WiMAX should go Mobile ALREADY!!
Oct 19th
Yes, I demand it to happen already!! I don’t understand what is taking so long for it to be implemented by all the licensed companies??
We all want better mobility. We all want better broadband. We all want better access.
By saying better, it doesn’t have to cost us, the end user a BOMB!
Like how you need to pay RM 999 for a modem. WHAT? I don’t have thousands of ringgit to spare from my monthly earnings, therefore, it doesn’t make the cut for me.
Maxis USB Broadband is a bane for me. I tried using it, yet again. No way I can live with it.
I need an internet access where it provides decent connectivity. By saying decent, I mean, an access where it is not constantly broken.
Some type of access where I can log in wherever I want. Of course not every corners of Malaysia, but at least, in the Klang Valley itself! They say WiMAX is cheap to setup with a tower which can covers more radius than currently what WiFi can cover. One tower – many users.
WiMAX is the next big thing after WiFi. While being the next big thing, its speed should be the next “fast thing”. No?
I dread for such great internet connection which is on demand due to the nature of my job which requires me to work on the go. Imagine I’m at my client’s office and I got a call and I need to access the internet with my laptop. I just need to hook up with the WiMAX USB modem and voila, I’m connected. Simple as that.
Oh wells, all dreams aside…
I think, I better go and get myself a good phone. Either E71 or Blackberry so at least, I can read emails and get some documents done while on the go. Hmm.. which choice is better? Wait or get myself a darn good phone…???
Maybank2U Changing its Skin…
Oct 2nd
Maybank2u has kinda changed the way I do banking. It used to be over the counter kinda service which I always go to. But when it comes to over the counter service, Maybank is not my priority, but Public Bank. Reason is a two huge different world to compare on. Number 1 would be service. The rest, better explained while we meet.
The only reason why I use Maybank is due to the convenience of the branches they have all over and of course their intensive online banking. Oh, not to forget, salary gets into Maybank account.
Recently they got an uplift on their website and this is how it looked like!

Damn kewl right? I know…
Come, let’s have a few comparison with their pages. This is their login pages. New and old.

See the big difference? Again… YES I know.. So the nice…
Their whole internal page also has gone to a whole new level of transformation.
I heart their new look… SEE the New and Old…

I tried their system, and it has proven to work without any bug. Sometimes, its a little bit slow because they are still on beta testing to ensure that all links and whatever backend support is working right as it should be.

It is a big giant leap! They whole interface has more “international” corporate look now, compared to the current and old version which is more like a “cinapek” design, adopted by businesses back in the early 90s. Hahahah
Unhealthy Dinner…
Sep 29th
Its a lazy Sunday. I’m held up at my apartment.
Kinda had a bad hangover from yesterday’s Hennessy Artistry. It has been really a long while since I last got a bad hangover from a night of clubbing. I must had been drinking alot since its free flow…
So, its Sunday, and there is a night market just beside the apartment, F1 was about to start when the stomach started making noise. A 15 minute walk at the night market got me all these for dinner.

Its unhealthy, yet I like it.
F1 was exciting. The first ever night race was one that I wouldn’t want to miss. Fernando Alonso won the race and I am very happy for him. It has been a while since he last won the race which was mainly dominated by Hamilton. Most of it.
Maxis Broadband sucks big time… Doesn’t even work well at my apartment. That’s it. Ain’t gonna subscribe to it no more!!
Hmm… let’s see if U Mobile, Celcom or Izzi would be the same…
P1 WiMAX goes Bollywood, hires The Flasher
Sep 19th
It has to be one of the most daring move ever!!
They are going all Bollywood!! hahaha…
The tagline “Free Yourself” doesn’t really justify for me…
Maybe they are trying to tell you, free yourself from lousy internet…
Pay more for the service, and we make sure we give you the best!!!
I shall not justify further as I’m not a user. I don’t I ever will, why? Because if I were to sign up with P1 WiMAX, I will have to pay RM 999 for the modem! WHAT!?? You kidding me? Where to find that much money to pay for it wor! Siao wan…
RM 999 divide by 24 months of contract = RM 42
RM 89 for the P1 WiMAX 1200 package = RM 89
Total I need to pay per month for 2 years = RM 131
Then, with their recent launch, now they are hiring The Flasher to promote their product with a very direct statement.
WiMAX. BIGGER AND BETTER
The Flasher was a little bit the fail la in the end.. See how at that point he cannot capture the market? Maybe The Flasher need to throw something extra. Don’t you think?
We are all typical Malaysian lah… We “leech” on better deals.. ![]()
But then, we shall compare apple to apple lah.. price and service somewhat compliments each other and we really need to see the big picture.. not just pricing…
WiMAX, what’s with the fuss??
Sep 8th
I don’t know.. I was too free and maybe I share with you all what’s WiMAX.
What’s the fuss about it..
and maybe you will be able to understand a little bit more about WiMAX…
ENJOY…
So there ya go…
Mamak anyone??
P1 WiMAX – A view on the offers
Sep 2nd
Whoa! I just checked at Packet One’s website! There is coverage at my area! There is coverage at my area! WOOHOOO!!!… *jumps up and down x 10000*
How do you check? Here is where you should click. CLICK.
Come to think of it, even though the offer is great, for such a bandwidth, I wouldn’t be able to be mobile with such a big modem.
PERSONAL PACKAGE

BUSINESS PACKAGE

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

The modem price is RM 999 and when you sign up during the promo period which is now till 30th September, your modem price will be waived! KINDA LIKE… WTF if I were asked on my opinion on this.
So, meaning after the promo period you will have to pay the modem price ON TOP of the package price and what not? Whoa! In canton, MM TAI LOR.. (not worth it)…
Unless the connectivity is SUPER FAST as say, maybe, 90% best effort? I will surely go for it. Otherwise, hmmm… I shall stick to slowmyx..
What say you guys?
I’m just waiting patiently for their USB dongle modem.. then I will at least have 99% of YES to sign up then…
