I Want
P1 WIGGY – Best Mobile Broadband in Malaysia*
May 5th
*base on YapThomas’ observation so far and NO, I’m not paid for this write up*
Now you see why I put a * at the end of my topic? Because, I don’t want other mobile broadband providers suing me or anyone else telling me that I’m wrong for putting up that statement.
You want the best mobile broadband? Here is YapThomas’ recommendation.

(pix by DannyFoo)
This is the kind of mobile broadband that people like me who is on constant move that demands a reliable, stable and fast internet connection on the go wants.
It has been years since I waited for a decent broadband. It has been 2 years now since Green Packet was awarded the WiMAX service here in Malaysia. The wait has been a worthy one.
Let me quote one sentence I wrote back in my March 2007 post.
“But, one particular company, namely GreenPacket is gonna kick everyone’s ass so big this time.“
I would say that… true to my words, they did so in mobile broadband. Or was it that I complained about them back in October 2008 that’s why they came out with the Wiggy?
What is Wiggy you ask? Just five basic knowledge about Wiggy from P1.

One of the features I look for in a mobile broadband is connectivity. It has to be constantly connected. Like how I tested Celcom Broadband on the road back in March 2009. But then again, that is not the connectivity that I want. I want a connectivity that doesn’t break off from time to time. I tried both Maxis Broadband and Celcom Broadband and it was horrible! I can’t even stay connected for a good 3 hour and it is very frustrating that when you are in the middle of your work, connection just cuts off.
Come let me show you how good this Wiggy is at connectivity. I was stayed connected for a good 17 hours. and the longest was nearly 29 hours! Keng or not!???

This is how small Wiggy is compared to an AA batery. I can carry it everywhere I go. Well, the same as Maxis and Celcom Broadband, but I think Wiggy looks way cooler…

(pix by DannyFoo)
During the media launch few weeks ago, Chief Marketing Officer of P1 Michael Lai said that we should bash them as hard as we could. I’ve only got one thing to bash.
“Can you please put more network coverage on the map and start kicking ass harder??!!“
That’s all I could bash, because with Wiggy I can do the followings which I can’t on Maxis Broadband and Celcom Broadband.
- I can load YouTube without major lagging problem…
- I get to upload pictures to Facebook…
- I get to connect to my VPN and use my booking system…
- I get to upload pictures to Flickr so that I can blog…
- I manage to finish download 1 movie!! Whoa.!!
Well, that’s kinda it. There are more but I don’t think I need to proof my point further.
So what are you waiting for? Grab a Wiggy and have fun now! Oh look, they are giving a 10GB of Fair Usage Treshold. With Celcom Broadband, I only get 5GB and I’m paying RM 139 for it! Talk about value, you know how to calculate lah okay…

Oh, one last note. I do really hope that the connection of Wiggy in my area will be the same. I will definitely complaint if in the the near future more and more people starts using Wiggy in my area and congest the connection. Definitely will…
That if P1 continue to let me use Wiggy for free or just end my trial period after 3 months. Maybe a discount will do lah.. I’m not greedy. I will write nice things if your product is nice to use. So far, it has been great.

I Can Relate to Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
May 4th
There is this new movie coming up and it is called “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past“.
I once knew this guy who dates a lot of random girls at one go. He is a big player and of course, he has the money. His money doesn’t come clean and let’s just say each night, he can spend more than RM 500 on either food, entertainment or alcohols.
I have seen him at his ‘peak’ with 8 girlfriends at one go. Oh, and each of his girlfriends obeys him like ‘bitch’. (What? That’s a female term of dog mind you.) Till the day he lost all of them.
I pity each one of them. Though, I’ve only met like 5 out of the 8.
He treats them like toy. Like seriously. He controls who they go out with, and control when they can go out with him. I was impressed at how he can keep all 8 of his girlfriends secret from one another. Oh wait, the key is to keep them apart far away from each other. That’s why he has got one girl in Klang, Subang, Damansara, Cheras and Johor. Yeap, there you go… the 5 girlfriends of his.
There came one time, Girl #1 found out about Girl #4 and oh gosh! I tell you, it was real havoc. But he took it like a man… He got bashed by both the girls on the spot. I don’t know at that time, I should be laughing at the ‘cat fight’ or pity him…
Oh wells, time has past, last I know he kinda like moved on and settled with on. God knows how long that relationship of his last. I last saw him was more than a year ago. He is one of those friends which I would regard as, not important in my life.
I guess this movie pretty much relates to people like him…
I want to watch this movie… so gimme one pair of tickets please, Nuffnang
For the uninitiated…
“First 75 write-ins will be given a pair of invitations to the Special screening of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past happening on 2nd of June!! The first 10 write-ins will also receive limited edition merchandises from the movie which is not available for sale anywhere else!”
What you waiting for? Read about it here and start posting!
There is one good thing about being a DGMBian. You get people who is so free like Joshua Ong to hog on to Nuffnang’s Blog all the time to see what’s new. Sometimes, Yatz does that too. Not for people like me who has got work to concentrate on.
Okay, I’m gonna head back to finish my work. I has been a crazy an eventful day.
In My Room
Apr 4th
I want this wardrobe design…

I’m so gonna commission a designer to get this done. Anyone willing to design one for me?
I am now blogging while YapMobil is being tenderly taken care of…
I’m all prep up to go Nuffnang Music Bash tonight… Wheeee
Upgrading Nokia 1200 to Nokia 1650
Mar 27th
I’ve made a big achievement today…
That’s Nokia 1200 to Nokia 1650, just so that you know!…
It is a great leap. Yes! Seriously. Because that’s how far I can go right now… -_-
Extra two hundred and fifty only. It’s gonna take a whole while till I reach the ones with camera.
I used to own a Samsung SGH-L760. It is a blogger phone and it suits me! Because I’m a blogger! Okay, well I didn’t pretty much use it for blogging. But it is a phone with blogging capability. It’s was long gone.
Talking about it, I miss those times when I can make 3G calls and even take photos with my phone.
So yeah, back to this matter. The Company has been kind to give me a new phone. HQ told me that I will be getting a ’sexy’ pink in colour LG phone. I’m thinking it is LG KP152. Random…
Being a company phone, it is given to me I thought I can sell it and get a better phone.
No! I was wrong. I was given Nokia 1650 instead. -_-
The package arrived today. It was an utter disappointment. This phone? For business?

A lot of people has been asking me to change phone. Because I should reflect my job and my work and when I meet clients also they look up on me. Because I have ‘blink-blink’ accessories. -_- Nokia 1200 has thus served me well, but with the arrive of Nokia 1650 I think I will be well taken care of better.

I’m given a metalic red colour phone and the display its now upgraded from a monochrome to a 65K colour. Looks like the metalic red colour compliment’s the colour of YapMobil. Hehehe

The menu also doesn’t look boring anymore. Give me more happy working mode. Features are pretty much the same lah. Oh! Nokia 1650 got flashlight also. Now I can flash whenever I need to.

Nokia 1650 give me an additional 300 free phonebook memory. Now I don’t need to keep asking, “Who are you?” whenever I pick up numbers which is not registered in my phone. So, no more reason for me to say, my phone no space. Unless I still use up the 500 space I have. That also not including the 250 space available on both sim card. This brings me a total of 1200 phonebook space!! Wheee!!!

Oh.. SMS now also very the nice already. Go colour. SMS also got more feel now!

Nothing much lah, but I get to have new games. I’m already bored of Rapid Roll, Pocket Carrom and Snake Xenzia without colour. Oh! Oh! Oh! This Nokia 1650 comes with radio.. radio ga ga…

So now… say hello to Nokia 1650. That’s me with the earphone on listening to Hitz.FM and their earphone very the nice wan. Kinda like got surround sound and it fits nicely to my ear hole. Not many earphone does.

Means, now I will have to use less on my Nokia 1200… Awww.. Don’t worry Nokia 1200. You will not be neglected. Because I will still use you to call, and use Nokia 1650 as my database.

Oh wells.. I’m waiting for Palm Pre to reach our Malaysian shore and I can make do with it. I need a powerful phone to work with for both work and pleasure! Can email, can take photo, can take video all lah!
Okay. Now I have to transfer all my contacts from one phone to another. Gah! That’s why I need a personal assistant.
hahaha
It’s weekend yo!!!
World Class Sustainable Cities 2009
Mar 19th
I WANT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!
I just read about this and I want to go for this so so so so so so so so much!!!
But, must pay. RM 500! -_-
I’m gonna ask if this conference is HRDF claimable. What? I’m stingy that way okay!
World Class Sustainable Cities 2009 (WCSC 2009)

Now, I’ve always love the topic of sustainable development. Wanted so much to continue my studies on sustainable development back then, but the only viable place to take up such course is in South American universities.
Even Queensland University of Technology don’t have a comprehensive course on sustainable development. Even they do, but it is a sub topic under some architectural studies. Oh wells…
One major part of sustainable development I like the most is transportation. Transportation is like one of the many arteries that links the Central Business District (CBD) of a city. Example like Kuala Lumpur, the transportation is choking itself every single day and the CBD can’t even pump properly on a daily basis because of lousy transportation system. Well you get what I am trying to say.
You can see that I have linked StreetFilms under the category of Tourism and Development. I like what they do and their mission.
I feel that, being a government who has the kind of resources and funds, we can even build a better transportation than what we have today. Yes you have LRT, but what is the point of building the network but you ‘planners’ didn’t think about parking space? Dude, how am I going to ride on the train when I can’t even find a ’safe’ spot to leave my car? By the roadside? Might as well drive to the city. Safer. Got parking in the city, but NOT ENOUGH.
You see? Not sustainable enough our city. Good, but not that good.
Now, back to WCSC2009. These are the speaker series this coming 24th March 2009.
Session 1
Singapore – A Livable and Sustainable City
by Long Yee Mun, VP, Surbana Planning Urban Group, Singapore
One Planet Living in the Construction and Development Sector
by Robert Spinks, Bovis Lend Leas, UK
Sydney 2030 – A Green, Global and Connected City
by Patrick Fensham, SGS Economics and Planning Pty Ltd, Sydney, Australia
Session 2
Branding Our Cities
by Sicco Van Gelden, Placebrands Ltd, The Netherlands
Delivering City Centre Projects, The Cheong Gye Cheon River Restoration Project
by Kie-Wook Kwon, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Korea
Urban Transportation of Singapore
by Choi Chik Cheong, Land Transport Authority, Singapore
Look! We have to learn from our neighbour! Like seriously, why?
Let’s hope our local government authorities and people in our government actually will learn something from this conference and maybe KTM Berhad can finally get someone to run it’s rail like a real business and look forward for a better profit instead of RM1. They made a lost RM 99 million in 2006. It is not even sustainable for the government to keep running KTMB like how it is and keep on throwing in public funds to help KTMB. KTMB NEEDS A RE-VAMP BADLY!
Wonders if anyone from our Malaysian Transport Ministry will go for this WCSC2009.
I want to go. Let’s see how I can pull some strings here and there…
Palm Pre and Palm WebOS
Mar 15th
My plans to buy a new phone is put on hold partly is because of this phone.
And also.. I have so many other phones in my options to choose.
Man… I’m spoilt for choices… Gah! I won’t be getting any new phones if new phones keep coming out.. HELP!!!!
This new phone is slated to take down iPhone like David, with iPhone being the Goliath.

The beauty of this phone by just looking at the pictures is unquestionable. Sexy isn’t it?
First thing I want to say about this phone is that it is not all touchscreen. It comes with a slide down QWERTY keyboard. The profile of this phone is slightly curvy, making it ergonomically easy to use. I don’t know, don’t quote me. I’m just saying by the looks of it.

Let’s see what this beauty has in store for us. This beauty works on the all new Palm webOS.
This is going to be a powerhouse of this baby. It is a touchscreen phone to begin with and it comes with the similar touchscreen feature as iPhone. Flick scrolling, deck view of running applications and gestures that works the whole OS itself. You can gesture left and right switching in between applications and it will not end the application. To end it, just swipe it up the screen and it will close the application.

Imagine also, the same powerful OS which can sync all your contacts with Gmail or Facebook. Just sync them to Gmail and voila, your contacts as per Gmail’s list. Don’t worry about having Yap Thomas in Gmail and Thomas Yap in Facebook. Palm Synergy will link them for you. Marvelous? You tell me.

Palm webOS also would solve my problem with my accounts on GTalk, MSN, Skype and Yahoo Messenger. It will just consolidate them all together in one application. When I own this unit, GTalk or Skype me anytime my dear friends. I’m constantly within reach on and offline.

Second of the lot is the ability to be connected.
Not to mention also, Palm has always been a business phone. Thus, email is no doubt a hassle free. I can get in touch with my work mail, Gmail and AIESEC mails anytime, anywhere.

Then… I’ve always wanted a GPS. Being a walking GPS myself don’t help much either. I sometimes need direction myself too. I’m not perfect okay. So they say Palm Pre comes with a superb GPS. Let’s just hope we can get as similar as what they have to offer in The States.

In my line of work, I need to be connected to the internet most of the times. Now, when I need to be connected to the internet, I have to use someone’s PC or carry my laptop around. The later is pretty much a big hassle. So with Palm Pre, I can web browse with its large touchscreen easily by zooming in and out. Hopefully.

Oh gosh. This is not helping much! This beauty better come cheap, else, it is gonna burn a big huge hole in my pocket. Maybe I shall just keep to my Nokia 1200 for now as it is already a cheap powerhouse for me now to call and text.
Hmmm… it is about time I think about upgrading already too.
GOSH! I’m so confused. Palm Pre better reach our shore now already!!!
