The Launch of a Roaring Tiger Year
Jun 3rd
Okay, you will be reading this as I scheduled this earlier. I’m a good blogger. I make sure you have something to read almost everyday!
Once upon a time… Guinness Anchor Berhad had a launch of the Tiger Year.

It was held at KL Live and there were lots of people there…

There are regular faces I see while I was there. Aaron and Lisan are the first two familiar face I met.

My invites came much later… Pala, Nadia and Nigel.

Of course, I was able to attend this event thanks to Elaine (standing beside me). The rest in the picture are Joshua, Jess and Spinzer.

It was the same night I took home 5 cartons of Tiger beer! Wait, was it 4?

The night ended with a yum char session at NZ Cafe along Jalan Ampang.

This was where I took the wonderful shot of KLCC.
Guinness St. Patrick’s Festival
Mar 19th
It’s Guinness St. Patrick’s Festival and it is happening at One Utama tonight and they are all prepared to host us. That’s why Chris Tock and myself were so surprised weeks ago to see why the whole building was in green. That bugger is happily enjoying himself where the festival is bigger there, albeit in a land across the festival country.

Guess I’ll be there since I’m a long supporter for GAB with working relations way back in 2006. So yes, this will be my first ever St. Patrick’s day celebration and let’s all enjoy the night.
Everyone’s invited… come and party like crazy yo!
Details of the event as per below:

Come celebrate the laughter’s side of life…
My Dream in the Year of the Tiger…
Feb 4th
… is to spend a month at Turkana, Kenya.
Yes, I’ve blog about it and this has been my dream since 2005. I see an opportunity of this realizing when Tiger and Nuffnang came together to fulfill those with dreams dying to come true with Tiger Run. I wait no longer (although I waited till the last minute) and hence, this post.
I’ve read some other post on other blogger’s dream, searched randomly on Google Blog Search.
ShaolinTiger wants to get a Nikon D300s and a paint job on his Airtrek Turbo.
SimonSeow wants to go to Japan Homestay to learn the culture there.
Cheesie wants to go to Japan Homestay too. She can’t get enough of it.
Fourfeetnine will put it as a down payment for a bug, the car.
See Yin wants to beautify herself and go to Japan too. What’s with Japan!?!?
Huai Bin wants to utilize the money on Jestina. Haha! I root for you, HB!
Adele got a whole load of shopping list to fulfill. Okay only 4…
Amelia wants to get iPhone, braces done and trip to Aussie…
They all seems like things that I want too… but I have to fulfill my this dream that I long for it to happen. Forget about Blackberry Bold 2, iPhone and many more material stuffs money can buy. A trip to Turkana is what I want to buy when I get my RM 8,888, should I win them. I’m aiming for 1st Runner up lah, if win Grand Prize then RM 1,888 is a bonus lor.
I am totally serious and am so keen that I’ve even book my flight to Nairobi, Kenya on Qatar Airways which will cost me RM 4616.

Okay. Why I dream and want to head over to Turkana so much? 3 reasons.
1) To help build God’s kingdom. St. Paul’s Apostle runs a missionary there and I’ve been wanting to do head over since 2005. I couldn’t due to commitments here. It has been 5 years now and after following the developments there and how much I’ve kept in touch with Fr. Francis, I want to see with my own eyes the work of God there.
2) Get out of this hectic crazy city life. I like city life, but I do think it would be good to take head out to some ‘deserted’ area and live.
3) Soul searching. 25 years old and I still think that I’ve not achieved much. I do need a soul searching time and this would be a great opportunity for me. Away from everything else and a lot of ‘me-time’.
So, RM 8,888 minus RM 4,616 will leave me with RM 4,272. What can I do with RM 4,272? A lot more! Imagine if the conversion rate for Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) to Kenyan Shillings (KES) is as follow:

I would have roughly KES 95,373! That’s a lot and I can do so much with it while I’m at Turkana. This money can fund so many development projects like building a school or plantation project or water retention dam project. It will all benefit the people. Also, they need medical supplies too!
Part of the funds can support my stay there to. Traveling from one place to another needs long distance travel, hence money definitely will be involve. Unless I can learn to ride a horse while I’m there, then I can save those funds. Hey! Good idea. Will keep that in mind.
What if I win Grand Prize? I spend those who comments on this post for a round of Yee Sang! (I’m sure gonna keep them all RM 1,888! Who comments on my posts anyways…)
I am not joking about this dream okay! Look! I’ve even tried to go to the extreme to win two gold bars worth at least about RM 300 each!

So… please Nuffnang and Tiger, let me join the race! I’m so determined to win okay! What? I’m known as “Long Leg Tiger” for a reason you know.

ROAR!

Decanter Too… Lovey Dovey
Dec 12th
Just back from 1st Annual Young Corporate Malaysian Summit 2009 and I’m sitting here at Decenter Too, Hartamas. Listing to musics like Wonderful Tonight, Eternal Flame, Titanic Theme Song, Endless Love and all that jazz…

This place is just nice and small… Quite the chilling also lah. On a personal opinion, they can do better with the music. At least throw in some nice chill-out house or some jazz or some instrumental lor. They kept on looping the same music over and over again. It gets boring after an hour or so. Decanter Too should maybe get a MP3 player and play hundreds of songs at one go.

The Christmas deco also already up. I think I would wanna throw a small party here some time in the near future. But only one thing that would make me think twice. The parking space outside is just too limited if I would want to host a group of 20 people or so.
Food wise, it is not too bad. I had the Mixed Grill at RM 30++. Mixed of Chicken, Lamb and Fish. Totally made my stomach happy.

I had a great meal here now with Tocklet sitting right in front of me and it can never be better after a long day at YCMS 2009.

While it last…
Sep 3rd
I’m back! Back from three crazy weeks of intense preparation and making AIESEC International Congress 2009 the best conference ever.
I’ve got so much to share but I guess what I’ve gone through can’t be told in a quick post I’m gonna do now.
There were so much joy, fun and finally tears shed throughout the conference.
A team of 50 international strangers became close friends and even some found their love ones within the team.Yes, we have some disparities during the conference but, hey in the end of the day, we can just sit and laugh at each other.
Today we had a sharing session and I have never shed that much of tears before listening to each and everyone sharing their experiences and feelings towards the whole progress from the beginning.
Much praise has been given to the Congress Committee (CC) and I’m glad this whole conference ended up with a big bang.
For some, this will be where they will end their AIESEC journey and some others are just in the midst of their experience. While some, like me is just only starting our AIESEC journey.
One of the best thing I’ve gained by joining the CC team is world of opportunities. Yes, world of opportunities with several global companies.
These past few days, we have been sending few other CCs home and it is sad to see them leave after a short time spent together.
What’s left is the lasting joy that the conference over and we’ve made it a big bang! Today will be our last night stay at Palace of the Golden Horses and the rest of 20+ of us are now in the presidential suite singing karaoke with songs like I’ve Gotta Feeling, Lemon Tree, Love Story, Barbey Girl, I’m Burning and etc…
For me, I’m joining in and of course, I’ve started working for The Office’s monthly meeting tomorrow…
Till I write more, good day…
Another Update
Aug 25th
Heyyy You!
Hello! Hello! Hello! I am back! For a while now…
Just another update for my absence. Yesterdat, while running around going crazy, I had few misses for being away too long. Away meaning away from my usual daily life…
1) Blogging. I’ve been neglecting you, YapThomas.Com ![]()
2) Camwhoring. I think I lost my camera charger. ![]()
3) Food. Late night food, random food hunt and especially “Tai Chow”. Now can hunt for Ramadhan bazaar! Woot!!!
4) Working. Yes, surprisingly. But not too much because I’m being held up here like crazy too.
5) Chillaxin. With friends of course.
One year ago, I thought it would be easy to handle a congress. But, when reality kicks in, it is not at all.
One year ago, I was told it is not gonna be easy to handle this congress but I brushed it aside. Never underestimate!
Many times I was told that AIESEC International Congress would be the best AIESEC experience ever for someone who has not been instilled in the AIESEC experiences of leadership. YES! Definitely it is.
Till today, I’ve learned a lot of people skills. I have a diverse team and the come from Canada, El Savador, Morocco, Tunisia, Pakistan, India and of course Malaysia.
Anyways, I got sick and took a whole 12 hours sleep and now I’m back in action. Feels good to be back in action!
Tomorrow is gonna be a big day!
We will have Global Youth 2 Business Forum where Companies like PwC, Artemisia, Standard Chartered Bank, Cadbury, Microsoft, DHL, ABInBev, Tata Consultancy Services and Electrolux.
Most of the CEOs and VPs are all here… Time to do some networking here and there…
The room light is now dimmed and I’m firing love musics like Way Back Into Love, Meaningless Kiss, Partners in Crime and many more. Currently liking Longing Love by George Winston the most…
Oh! Last minute plan, I’m singing during Gala Dinner! Random plan but am still looking for the best duet song… On the list now is Something Stupid (Nadia! Remember this!?) and Way Back Into Love…
There is a party going on up at the Ballroom and today’s theme is What I Want To Be When I Grow Up… Don’t ask me who came up with that. hahaha
Okay, I’m gonna do my final round of check before I go and crash in my lovely Executive Suite

I am missing a lot of actions out there!
But at the same time, I’m enjoying my time here.
So much I want to do, so many events I want to go, friends I want to hang out with and work that is piling up at The Office.
I am being drained out of my resources and energy here, but there is one thing that is keeping me up and running.
Making AIESEC International Congress 2009 happen!
