200,000 Maybank 2 Cards Approved since January 2011

Last Tuesday, July 5, 2011, Maybank and American Express celebrated its Maybankard 2 Cards milestone achievements by hosting a cocktail soiree at the renovated Aristo Bar, Zouk KL. The 150 guests included prize winners of the card’s on-line challenge held in conjunction with the launch of the new card that offered prizes of iPod Shuffles, iPads and RM 10k cash vouchers.
“Since the Maybankard 2 Cards’ debut in January this year, as the first in the market offering two premier cards for one application, we achieved another remarkable milestone of more than 200k cards acquired as of 30 ;June 2011 that accounts for about 14% of the banks’ total card base,” said Lim, the Maybank’s Deputy President & Head of Community Financial Services.
During the 5 hour celebration, all the guests were treated to cuisines and treated to fun filled entertainment ranging from a pole dance troupe performing repertoires that personified the cards’ concept of duality, to a mentalist who engaged the guests with mind tricks. I think I saw David Lai, but he never appear also. Oh BTW, they got super kick ass pole-break-dancing! 
Mix FM’s dynamic breakfast show duo DJs Dili and JD were compeers while Zouk’s resident DJ Ken belted out heart-thumping mixes from his spin machine.

Everyone Connects for Manchester United vs Chelsea Match

As many of you may know, I am not a football fan. I will usually support the winning team during any match just to piss the other team fans off. Ya. I know, I will get killed one day for being anal.
So this coming Sunday, at 12PM midnight, you will be watching one of the biggest match of the month.
It is Chelsea vs Manchester United!

Sirens Media Poolside Party at Hilton KL

Yesterday was Sirens Media private poolside party at Hilton KL!
Was there about 8.30pm when the event suppose to start at 7.00pm but no biggie because I am used to be late!
Food was served when Lady Alie and myself arrived and soon when the food reached our plate, we were devouring like mad.
Just cause we were both super hungry and I was exceptionally hungry I guess due to the lack of solid and proper food while I was sick. Yes, I was sick since Wednesday. Sucks no?

Well, Hilton KL’s Boardwalk Poolside Restaurant is located on the 8th Floor and boy, it was sure windy and cooling. The fan was not even turned on and the wind is so strong. I guess maybe it was the weather? How I wish the weather is like this all the time.
They have a very laid back environment, I mean of course most hotels does right? Haha

There is a DJ playing music that night, very chillaxin house music I would say. If only I can drink much then I can enjoy the ambience better.
How was the party? It was nice and thanks to JacJac for inviting, really a nice gesture for the invitation.
Only thing is that the hotel needs to polish up their service. Maybe proper training should be in place, even for part-timers.
Now, let me explain why I said that and this applies to some of the service crews.
The service crew was really not attentive and they look very “zombie” for the lack for better words. Only I can see a handful, probably 3 or 4 of them are experienced crew. Seeking attention from any of the service crew was really a bane, maybe most of them were busy running the dinner service but at least a standby person to attend to tables? At the bar, some crew were just chilling by the door while I am standing there waiting to order for a good 5-7 minutes? Yes, it’s about that.
With a sit down setting, and if you always change plates, you should have a service table at the side of the table to speed up the service. Some plates were taken away and not replaced immediately resulted in food not getting to them. Not a very nice feeling to leave to your guests, right?
Also, before serving, always inform your guests what dish it is you are serving before putting the food on his/her plate. Some people may be allergic or not in a favor of that dish. It would be a waste and embarrassing to the guest at the same time.
Look, I may sound like I am a person who demands a lot, but hey, Hilton KL, that’s what I should be expecting no?
I wouldn’t mind if I am at some local restaurant and bar, but Hilton KL. It is just so different from my previous experience there at the Cosmo Lobby Lounge last August.
Maybe, they are a different service crew, or probably they are not really ready for a group of people service but regardless, I am a sucker for good quality service coming personally from hospitality industry. I don’t blame them, only thing they need is training and a lot of scolding and bashing, not literally, as I came from the same background. Heh.
Albeit the sub-par service, the food was yummy and the environment is excellent. If service can be improved, voila, you’ve got your name back, Hilton KL!

Shout! Awards 2010 by Celcom Xpax

Last Saturday was Shout! Awards. I am sure you have read it from my previous post of Xplay Shout!
So yes! I got myself a pair of tickets to this Shout! Awards Live from Stadium Putra Bukit Jalill.
There were a bunch of us all there early… Elik, JacJac, Wingz, TallBoyz, Kenny, Dale, JasonMumbles, Jering and of course Lady Alie.
Speaking of TallBoyz, he is like the next person as tall as me, probably taller. Hmmm… See the comparison here, what do you think?
Okay, I think same height lah. Not like Kenny hehehe… *hides*
So, moving on,… This is Stadium Putra at Bukit Jalil… It is air conditioned!
We all went there early and seats are actually filling in fast. One of the event crew came out and brief us of what’s gonna happen next bla.. bla.. bla..
The event crew were also briefing the “Screamers” that they invited to make the whole production look good. We call them “keh leh feh”. Hahaha. All they have to do is SCREEEEAAMMM!! Yeah.
Oh! They were giving out light sticks too and see all those people like zombie only. Just like the ones in Resident Evil hahaha. Damn funny. Kids… sigh… Wait! I think got adults too. Adults… sigh…
While they were all going crazy over light sticks, we got bored, so we camwhored…
Then, the event starts and lights are dimmed and everyone is going crazeee…
Earlier on, they had Purple Carpet interview actually, so there were showing who’s who on the screen. I manage to capture some shots.

About Peter Pan The Musical
‘Peter Pan The Musical’ is the very first theatrical production organized by Sunway Lagoon. The iridescent display of song and dance will take place twice daily (except Tuesdays) and three times on Fridays and Saturdays.

I’ve never heard of XPLAY till recently. I guess I’ve been living in a nutshell a lot now. I used to be an event freak, where people call me social butterfly, just that I can’t fly. What happened to me! I need more spice in my life now! Give it to me baybeh!
So what’s XPLAY? I’ve been getting a lot of raised eyebrow when I tell people about XPLAY. Nah, here I do some community service la. Ish!
