Adopt A Miracle
Feb 17th
I chance upon this video at Yasmin Ahmad’s blog at her recent post.
I hope all of you can view this wonderful SPCA Ad video.
Yasmin Ahmad wrote on her blog:
On the 29th of December, 2008, my crew and I shot this commercial in Ipoh. It was a one-day shoot, alhamdulillah.
I had written a script, based on the true story of Encik Shahrul’s family, or more specifically, of his youngest child, Adlan.
Adlan was an extreme autistic who, for 7 years, behaved like he was trapped in a bubble, unable to communicate with the outside world, and vice versa.
What finally brought him out of that state is shown in the commercial you see here.
The dog is the most misunderstood animal in this country. Its haters, I’m sad to say, are largely Malays who often don’t even know the difference between “haram” and “najis”, let alone the finer points and different degrees of najis.
With this little film, I urge my people to read more about the true Islamic rules concerning this beautiful creature of God, and to please refrain from being cruel to it.
Let’s do this for Allah.
Not any God has forsaken any creature in his creation. Just not any God.
A Very Special Number 24
Jan 4th
It is also the time spent outside going from one place to another. An eventful day I would say. Thanks, to the few who celebrated with me. Am both glad and happy.
(Very long post ahead)
Last year in 2008, it was ‘big-bang’ with friends coming to celebrate the night with me. This year, I decided to take it a step back to chill the night out. I did not have any prior plans and it is all impromptu.
This year, it is rather special, because I did not have any prior plans and it is mostly all impromptu ones. Also, it’s special because I get wishes from a lot of people whom I’ve never met before. Even when I’m in the toilet, this guy came in and said “Hey dude, happy birthday“. hahaha. Wishes also came in by SMS all the way from India, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Brisbane and Melbourne. Woot!… -_-
So, how did the 3rd January 2009 went?
Midnight AM on 3rd Jan, I was doing laundry and happily playing loud musics also toying with the guitar.

Words… don’t come easy…
The sleep was rather tough as well, when I’m suppose to get up early and my only morning call is the phone alarm. I kept on waking up with one eye open to reply SMS and then back to sleep again. O_x Kinda auto-ed… hahaha
Got up early freshen up and rush to Sunway Pyramid to get the children’s gift.
Rushed off to Impiana Hotel and was just in time when the event started.

I see many happy faces… thus, am happy too…
It was seriously great to see the kids I’m buying gifts for.

That’s Christina the 6yr old, Simon the 2yr old and Jacob the 13yrold…
I sat down at the table where most of the elder kids were. I met a lone ranger there too, Esther. Came all the way from Klang. Small world eh?

The kids of Rumah KIDS with all their presents…
Mr. Anbu is still taking care of Rumah KIDS and we chatted a little bit. Rumah KIDS has grown and even expanded to the Subang. Not bad…
Then, a picture with Rex before I left. He announced that it was my birthday that day when I was up on stage presenting the gifts to the children. Hence, all the wishes from a lot of people.

Rex from LiteFm…
Finished the event, I went back to the office and did one quick booking. Yea, I had to work. But it was a hassle free client and booking was done within 10 minutes.
Then, it was church at Sunway after the event at Impiana. Church ended at 7.30ish and then, it was dinner. Dinner was at Yuen’s with two lovely ladies, Pam and Nisha.

yummmyyyy…
Everyone knows that the chicken wing at Yuen’s steamboat is ‘to-die-for’ dish. Whenever you see the lady taking out the chicken wing, you have to make the sprint and grab whatever you can. NO! We didn’t have to do that. Why? It shall remain a secret, right?
What’s important was, the chicken wings was great!

So the yummy, we whack twice the lot of the above…
Funny thing was, the two ladies started singing birthday song and the candle was the steamboat. Go figure!
The night ended with The Boys at Werner’s on Changkat Bukit Bintang. Jun called in the morning to ask “So, where do you wanna go tonight?“. Seriously had no idea till evening, where, chillaxin would be the best option. So Werner’s it was.

Sat outside at the patio, chatted and catch-up on the happenings…
We ordered Werner’s Special, which is the MUST HAVE dish when you dine at Werner’s. No we did not dine there, but still, a must try!!

Special dessert for special day…
May I recall, it was chocolate, strawberry, ice-cream, nuts and yogurt. It was just YUMMY!
Yet again, birthday song were sang by The Boys and my candle was the table candle. Exquisite! Save on the cake and candle. -_-
The alcohol consumption was rather, a surprise. One Heineken only! Wheeee..!! No! I don’t have liver problem where I can’t drink much. It’s just that, I’m cutting down on drinking. It’s quite damaging to both the pocket and health, so yeah, one of my to do list this year.
The Boys, decided that, the night is not going to end until they say so. I was like starting to zone out already since the places there at Changkat closes quite early. We ended up at A&W.

My second beer of the night…
Here, is where I totally zone out! 90% K-Oed. Enough said…

Jabroni, moi, ‘Heskey’ and Juneo
Glad this birthday turns out great, tho.. a subtle one. All the random wishes, calls, and the great companies with the kids, the strangers, the ladies, and The Boys throughout the whole day.
Don’t need any fancy birthday presents (tho, it will be an added bonus) and all, just great companies will do.
See I’m so simple right?
Thank You Peeps.
Shopping for Kids
Jan 4th
Shopping has never been this tough. NEVER!
First of all, I couldn’t find a tracksuit for 6yr old. Then, I was lost on what a tracksuit is, actually. All I thought was that it is a pants for sports. I don’t know. I’m blur nowadays. I went to the children department and I couldn’t find tracksuit for 6yr old girl.
I literally stood there at the department store for quite some time just to decide what I want to buy actually. I do not want to buy something that they can’t wear. I don’t see them often, and better be safe than to disappoint.

So yeah, I fail terribly in buying cloths for children. Gosh, how am I going to be a daddy next time. The future wife is seriously going to do all the shopping and I bet she would be more than glad to do it. Solution: Just give the cash and let her handle it. It’s woman’s secret art of kung-fu.
So I ended up buying this for Cindy Angelia. I think, it is sure the safest bet.

Flower suits girls… No?
Simon’s gift was rather easy and it didn’t take me long enough to decide on this. I find that buying them a whole set outfit is rather better than just the t-shirt alone.

Dinosaur… Roooarrrr…
Finally, guitar for Jacob. See, I have a guitar at home. It has been left lying there for more than 5 years. Tried learning, but never got around learning much. Lost touch on what are the notes and how to play. Since Jacob’s wish is a guitar, this guitar is his then.

Still in a brand new state… Re-string and re-tuned…
Rather have someone who wants a guitar than me keeping it at home, right?
Floods in Malaysia, Ten-2-Help?
Dec 19th
I’ve been searching the night for a good source of flood news.
I’ve searched through TheStar, NST, TheSun and Googling. I don’t find the much needed
news that I want to know. Which location is the worst hit by the recent flood?
While a search on TheSun gave me last year’s news… -_-
TheStar has a video updated on Floods in Pahang, Kelantan, Johor and Terengganu.
I’ve got considerably good amount of news coverage but not intense.
I even went to InfoBanjir, website of Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia.
Nothing good could be taken from this site, as I don’t even know how to interpret most
of the things posted in the website.
That’s how bad it is to find such needed information during a disaster.
Why I need this information?
I am on my break now and since I have nothing better to do, why not I do something
good for my country and my fellow Malaysians brothers and sisters.
I am planning a campaign which I think I would love to call it “Ten-2-Help”.
Would love to run this initiative if I have enough support from every corner.
Initial rough plan is to run through this campaign throughout the bloggersphere to
garner a relief support in cash to be exchanged into kind for the flood victims.
Cash from as low as RM 10 for a start but no obligations to start at RM10.
Cash collected will be then used purchase items much needed by the victims like
- Bottled Water
- Food Items and etc.
Gonna work this out with few major organization… See how things goes..
Do I have your support?
