HOME – The Drama & Documentary
Oct 22nd
I once visited a small Burmese refugee residence here in Kuala Lumpur. They are all here due to many reasons like health, military ruling, poverty and etc. in their country and they need a place they could call home.
It was in January 2008 where (read about my visit) I visited this small refugee home and I took this video below. Watching it again, I miss this place and I do hope they are still around, with better support of course.
Then, recently I found out that there is a drama and documentary made about the Burmese refugee here in Malaysia.
I can’t remember where I picked this up, but I knew that I saved it in my “Read Later” Tab on Firefox.
The Drama
HOME is a short drama about the journey of Burmese refugee Roi Roi’s search for a home in Malaysia.

The Documentary
Many Burmese refugees flee to Malaysia to escape the tyranny of their country’s military junta. Despite surviving a grueling journey across the borders of Thailand and Malaysia, many find themselves victims of human rights abuse and human trafficking in Malaysia. This is a documentary that unveils the heartbreaking stories of Burmese refugees in Malaysia through testimonials of their horrific experiences.

There will be a film screening this coming 23rd October at The Annexe Gallery at 8.00 PM. It is presented by SUARAM and for further info, you can call 03-77843525 (SUARAM).
Unfortunately, I can’t make it to this event… as I will be flying off in approximately 20 hours to a perfect “honeymoon” with my love one.
Can someone please update me on the outcome of this drama and documentary if you happen to be there.
Pwweeassseeeee…

Construction Workers Lunching on a Crossbeam – 1932
Jun 3rd
Remember this package from down under?
So this is what’s inside…
I was in Aussie a long time ago, and I remember passing by this picture and uttered to my friend that I like this picture very much. After saying that, I got this coming to my doorstep few weeks later.

Well, this happened a long time ago. Not recently, but I finally decided to open it up when I was in Klang two weekends ago and bring it to my apartment to fill the empty wall…
The name for this picture is “Construction Workers Lunching on a Crossbeam – 1932″
This iconic photo is one of the most famous images ever shot. Construction workers take a break from their work on the RCA Building at Rockefeller Center in New York to have lunch atop a steel beam 800 feet above ground. The photo was taken Sept. 29, 1932.

This pictures gives me a nice feeling. See how the workers taking their break at such a height back then without even a safety equipment looking all jolly and relax? I just like this picture and it was love at first sight.
Looks like BMW got a companion now, right opposite from each other…
Exploring Perth City On Foot
Mar 11th
We reached The Old Swan Barracks and left our bags in their holding room.
Everytime, when I reach a new destination, I will have to do one thing first.
I will explore that particular location I’m staying. Scaling my perimeter, leaving my first-timer footmarks all around the Perth city was what I did. Yes, I traveled the city on foot! Also we need to study on the public transportation system so that we know how to move around on what mode of transportation in Perth.

Spent pretty much half-morning walking around the city, which is actually quite small. So after walking for some time, we decided that we should find a place for lunch. Looking around we found a Malaysian restaurant on Barrack Street. Wheeee!!! Malaysia Boleh!!

NO! We didn’t dine in there. They are serving Roti Canai for AUD$ 8, if I’m not mistaken! Gosh! I wonder if they actually make the dough for 48 hours… -_- Worth the money you pay ma. Taste nicer also.

Rue said that, if we don’t visit The Perth Mint while we are in Perth, our trip will be incomplete. So, Perth Mint then we went looking. Read. Given my “superb” skills with map and location, I took the lead. I failed. I lead them towards the west of Hay Street, Wellington Street, Murray Street and ended up in Chinatown instead. Haha. Don’t blame me! My mapping skills needs 24 hours to adjust from Kuala Lumpur to a new location, Perth.

Decided to throw away my men ego in asking for directions, I walked into Perth Visitor Centre which is just right opposite of Perth Train Station and ask for directions instead. The centre has all the information you need to know about Western Australia in a whole. What to do, where to eat, where to stay and many more. They have their advisors all ready to take your questions and give you their best advice.
We got our new direction to the mint and it is right towards the east of the city on Hay Street. It is like the other end of the city. We arrived at the mint just in time to join a group for the tour.
Once we are done with The Perth Mint, we headed back to the city with red Central Area Transport (CAT) bus. It took us back to the city center on William Street and Hay Street. It is already 6pm and by the time we walked around again to explore the city, the time is about 7pm. The city is dead at this hour. Like dead, dead.

It is getting late and while walking back along Murray Street, we saw a group of people looking up and there was this graphic video shown on a building and eerie background music playing.

It was an abstract video presentation of tiny humans put together to form abstract movements and objects. I seriously do not understand the whole meaning of the video, but hey, didn’t I say abstract?
We are totally beat and we retire back to our hostel.
There you go, exploring the city one whole day on foot. Imagine if you do that in Malaysia, you are already swimming in your cloths. The weather in Perth is so nice that you don’t really sweat because their summer is dry, not humid. Oh… I miss the weather in Perth.
Two Stalks of Rose From Pamsong
Feb 14th
It was after a superb Bak Kut Teh dinner after the DGMB Chinese New Year visition and we were at my house at Klang and I think she got bored, thus she open Adobe PS2 program and started drawing.
Her final drawing was such an art that I couldn’t bear to delete it…
Her masterpiece were done in less than 15 minutes.
Check out Pam’s other art works.

Two stalks of rose…
Everyone was like,
“Eh! How you do that”
“Whoa… how you make the thing go…”
“How you change that brush?”
There were a lot more “how this?”; “how that?” which left many in awe…
Hmmm…
I guess, it’s the valentine’s fever eh, Pam?
Oh… HAPPY VALENTINE’s everyone!!!
Thomas Kinkade
Oct 11th
The Painter of Light they call him.
Thomas Kinkade is a famous American painter whose painting collections
can fetch as much as 5-digits. Even 6-digits value if it is totally rare or limited.
His artworks are done impressively whereby it is such a beauty under shine of light.
Look at the example below, where the top picture is was not under spotlight while
the bottom picture was under spotlight.

Besides all these expensive artworks where not the ordinary many could afford or
would want to splurge one, you can get nice simple “glow-in-the-dark” jigsaw puzzle
for a couple of hundred as corporate gifts, to friends or families.
Visit Thomas Kinkade’s gallery at One Utama and Bangsar Village 2.
A friend of mine is working at the One Utama gallery. ![]()
I am just impressed with the art works..
Can’t afford one.. -_-
