It's all about my travel experience and things I love to do…
A Review of Bondi Beach Bar & Grill…
I was called by CS one day and he told me that he has moved from Mardi Gras to this new place called Bondi Beach. At first, I thought he is calling me from Bondi Beach, Sydney. -_-
I have left the F&B for so long already now. No longer keeping touch on what is going on in the F&B arena. CS called me and asked if I still have the contacts for food PR peeps. I told him nope, but I have a pool of people who can write about his place and he can treat it as online marketing.
I remembered well that I kept on forgeting about getting people over to his place.
I was so busy that I appointed two runner to call people on my behalf. Aaron and Joshua. Wait, I rope in Yatz too, cause he was online. It was really a hell, and I was like multi-tasking between this, my work and IC2009. Crazy…
So, back to Bondi Beach. This is my first time coming to this part of The Curve. It is situated just beside Bubba Gumps.
Bondi Beach is a Grill & Bar. The concept is pretty much a laid-back, backyard cooking kinda style restaurant.

Used to be the Indian restaurant called Colonial something…

This place is just cozy… Cozy enough for your friends to come together after a long day’s work and chill out and talk about life… -_-

They have a small oval or rather round area outside the restaurant. It is facing the Bubba Gump restaurant.

What you are seeing here is just about 60% complete, their renovation. They have their guys at Aussie to bring back some settings to make this whole place feel like you are at Bondi Beach in Sydney. Not really 100% exactly but at least, you will have the feel.

They even have a DJ playing latest trend musics to keep the mood alive…

But then, that night, the DJ just played the music which doesn’t suit the mood. He really needs to improve in the sense that he needs to put his shoes as the customer who come in and dine and what they are listening is BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!. Why not they go Sanctuary rather than Bondi right?
Now, seen the place enough. Not quite I bet. You need to be there to feel the atmosphere. Let’s look at the food that they have. The ones I’m going to show you are their “trademarks” dishes. Where, people would say, you have not been to Bondi Beach Bar & Grill if you don’t give these dish an order.
We were served first Grilled Oysters topped with Buttery BBQ Sauce.

This is not too bad. Very fresh and with their sauce, I don’t even get to taste the raw taste.
Next in line was the Prawn Pinwheels – Spiced Tiger Prawns grilled, on a bed of curle endives.

I liked the prawn. I’m very particular with prawn. But this, the Tiger Prawn was just, YUM! When you bite it, it is just solid.
The chef whip out some royal rumble dish later on. It was the Seafood Kebab with Dill – Tiger Prawn, soft-shell crab, squid, tengiri, courgette, cherry tomato served with tartar sauce.

Nothing to shout about for this dish, but, it is just kinda unique to serve this dish. Oh! in all the dishes, comes with small garnishing of vegetable, potatoes and tomatoes. I like the tomato the best. OMG! It is so orgasmic! When you bite the tomato, the juice just BURST into your mouth and you just want more and more! I’m so SERIOUS!
Moving on, we have Salmon fish. I didn’t ask where they got this, maybe its Australian imported.

Hmmm… this is one nice piece of Salmon. Again, the raw taste doesn’t hit into my taste bud. It is just nice.
The same dish that came together with the Salmon fish was, Fillet of Dory.

One of my all time favourite fish. The dory fish meat are usually very smooth. What’s more when it is grilled?
Continuing the dishes, we have two of Bondi Beach’s mains…
Rib Eye and Sirloin on separate dish, served with their famous ‘homemade’ sauce.

When CS told us that we have to pay for the sauce, I got kinda like shocked! HUH? Need to pay. The point put forth was, it is our very own taste bud that we want to suit. So, we pay for the taste that we want. The meat can go with any sauce, but not many may like the typical common Black Pepper Sauce. What’s the cost of each sauce? It is RM 3 and worth the money.
They serve us with three of their many sauces available. Bondi BBQ, Musroom and Black Pepper. Among others are Roasted Tomato Salsa, Lemon Herb Butter, Cajun Remoulade and Le De Paris.

To end our dinner, Bondi Beach served us two of their best dessert. Of course, serve us the best la, where got people serve you cheapo dish for a food review, right? But then again, let me divert a little bit.
The main man behind this restaurant is a Korean and he has his vast experience in F&B. His philosophy is, doesn’t matter if he needs to waste a badly grilled steak to create another perfect steak. It is the quality and service that Bondi Beach wants to deliver to each of their customer.
This is the kind of restaurant I would want to dine in, like seriously. I’ve no doubt of their service. Some of their people there I know are from other places and I’ve known their service level.
OKAY, back to dessert. We were served first Honey Grilled Banana with Coconut Flakes and secondly Apple Cinnamon Comb.

If I am not having my dinner here at Bondi Beach Bar & Grill, I will be having my dessert here. Definitely! Personally I like the latter best. The Apple Cinnamon Comb was the favourite of the night in the dessert category. I just can’t get enough of it and I’m already craving for it now!! OH NO!!!
It was a nice outing and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Last minute plan doesn’t turn out that bad either eh?
These are the peeps there that night…

Ken, Sidney, Joshua, Myself, Aaron, Celine, Stephanie, Stanley, Chunglern with the P.I.C in front CS.
