Eaten by Dragon-i
June 24, 2008 – 10:49 amEaten literally… and alive!!!
So well, I was Roxy Summer Splash at Sunway Lagoon. I didn’t made it in because the crowd was crazy and most of the crowd’s attitude pretty much disgust me.
After a long day of working, yes, I worked on that particular day at Starbucks, the group decided to go and have dinner somewhere. It was previously set that we have our dinner at Manhattan Fish Market, but when it came to 7pm, the place was packed like ’sardine’ pack!
So Dragon-i it was and it was like 8 of us at the restaurant.

7 plus Hwei Ming who is taking this picture..
So we all ordered our food… I was totally smacked tired and didn’t took much photos.
So here are some of the food… which I think, they are great and nice!

Shanghainese Steamed Meat Dumpling…

some fried noodle…

some fried meat dumpling…

Stewed Pork…
But, this is not the whole point of this post. It is about the food that I ordered that irked the hell outta me! This is the dish that I ordered when I first set my eyes on it.
It was love at first sight okay!! So I ordered it…

Shanghainess Fried Vegetable Rice with Pork Chop…
Happily waiting for my Pork Chop to arrive because the captain was saying, my dish will come like a little bit slower because they need to deep fry and dunno what other process of “Chinese” style jing bang cooking… so yeah. When it arrives, I was shocked! WHY?

FIVE PIECES OF MEAT!…
Yes, only that small potion of meat and my stomach is already screaming…
“WTF IS THAT THIS!!! THIS CAN’T FILL ME UP!!”
So, me being the typical “Service & Expectation” person, I called the captain.
Me: Captain, why is this dish different from the menu that I saw *points to picture*
Captain: Oh, usually we serve separately, but this time we just put the meat on top.
Me: But, why is the potion is so much less than in the picture?
Captain: (give me the “shut up & eat your food! I’m busy!” kinda look and smile)
Me: oh nevermind…
Yeah, there you go!
Welcome to Dragon-i, a culinary experience unlike any other.
True that to their “A Culinary Experience” statement at their website as it was a rather “great” culinary experience. An experience where customer are cheated by mere graphic and they can escape by just a mere disclaimer just to be safe. Bullshits!!

Food pictures are for reference only, change of presentation…
I just needed some sumptuous meal and looking which Kelz choose Dragon-i, I thought that Pork Chop option would look good and the potion looks great and enough to fill my stomach.
I was practically sulking and well, I didn’t want my dish to go back into the kitchen and come out with extra ingredient! Yes, it happens and I worked in a restaurant, hotel and some other outlets before and you never want to know what can the back-house people can do!
Great meals comes in small potion!! Oh yes, please tell me about it!! This is not even a fine dining! Even if it is, I wouldn’t complain because the expectation is different. Just different! This is just a nice looking restaurant that’s all to me. Not fine dining!
I think this is just not good to the general consumer where everyone is a paying customer and we as consumer should demand what we should get. But oh wells, there is always a “but” holding us back which could turn out to be a nightmare afterall.
Which branch is this? Sunway Pyramid. I had my dinner once at The Curve, it was good experience. This one at Sunway Pyramid just put me off pretty much that I will think twice of going back there again…
Anyone had the same experience?
