It has been a while also since I last visited The Actors Studio, Bangsar. The last show I watched there was Life Sdn Bhd and it was in 2004. But of course that was not my last theater show I watched thanks to KLPAC which opened since 2005.
Watched How I Learned to Drive alone which is kinda weird haha. Life Sdn Bhd also I went and watch alone. Why all the shows I watch at TAS also alone wan?? Sad.. -___-
But, I met Su Ann who came to say hi..
and Sue who was with her friend there.
Last minute called Sharon, but she has other plan…
I must say that of all the theater shows that I’ve seen, this is sexciting exciting!!!
I like the way how driving is bridge to the story of this show and I like it…
Fifteen minutes towards the show I like the whole storyline and the cast, just makes
the whole show interesting. This show is good for mature audience only!!
In summary, You must not miss this show!
Some sneak peek..
the whole stage setup…

What’s How I Learned to Drive?

Synopsis:
Growing up in a family with thin, penetrable personal boundaries, Li’l Bit becomes the victim of an incestuous intimacy – Uncle Peck does not only teach his teenage niece to drive, but sexualises her childhood as well.Narrated through a series of bittersweet flashbacks, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE is an honest, coming-of-age account on forgiveness, healing and growth – and how one can find light even from the unhealthiest of relationships.
HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE was first produced in 1997 in New York City and has since been awarded, in addition to the Pulitzer: the Obie, the Drama Desk Award, the New York Drama Critics Award, the Outer Circle Critics Award, and the Lucille Lortel Award.
Featuring Amelia Chen, Johann Lim, Doreen Loo, Davina Goh and Mark Beau de Silva, with Kelvin Wong as Creative Director.
Supported by Living Arts and Autodetailer.
“…one of the best plays of the decade.” – USA Today
“…a tremendous achievement; genuine and genuinely disturbing.” – Village Voice
