Lunch Talk Suicide
May 5, 2008 – 12:44 pmI went out to chill after a crazy morning…
Walked to the bank to make my payment for my Mount Kinabalu trip…
Passing by Wisma Genting’s Hawker Stalls, I was tempted to take my lunch early.
Furthermore, it is very empty that time and it would be great enjoyable meals without people looking at you, giving their look of thoughts “When you are going to finish!??”
So, happily I bought my lunch, the usual vegetarian economy rice @ RM 6!!
Yeah, it was inclusive of yesterday’s dinner, today’s breakfast and lunch.
That’s why so expensive..!! RM 6!!
It’s going to be 12 noon and I can see many people walking in and buying food…
It struck 12:10 pm and it’s like some bees found some honey kinda crowd…
Four ladies came and sat at the adjoining table to my right.
There were speaking hokkien and I assume they are definitely from Klang, maybe not.
One lady sat down while the three others went to get their food..
All came back and they started talking.. Okay, I might be rude if I’m listening to their conversation, but well, since they are talking in Hokkien, I listen lor..
Not everyday I can listen my hometown Klang language OKAY!
One lady started talking about her Seafood dinner last night, saying that it was not a very fresh seafood and what not…
The other lady asked which one she goes, if it is the one near the huge signboard….
The one who went for seafood mentioned the items she order for a family and continue saying how not fresh it is…
Suddenly this lady talked in Cantonese…
Lady 3: “Lei geh hai kei tor kilo ah?” (How many kilo is the crab?)
AT THIS MOMENT… I NEARLY CHOKED TO DEATH!!!
EYES OPEN BIG BIG AND GULPED MY FOOD IN MY THROAT SLOWLY!!
SERIOUSLY!!!
The way she said it was SO DIFFERENT!
There is a big huge difference between “hai” and “haaai“.
“hai” = self explanatory for you Canton speaking peeps, else ask your friends…
“haaai” = crab in Canton
I tell you.. it was near suicide… I don’t want to die that young okay!!
