Real Estate Experience with Henry Butcher Malaysia
April 22, 2008 – 7:56 pmAs I was planning my big leap towards many other industry, I was introduced to a part time job to gain some experience in real estate. The job was offered thanks to connections and I’m grateful as I can at least, get a touch of real estate.
It has never occurred in my mind that real estate could be one of the many choices and with these two past weekend jobs I’ve had, I seriously think it is one of the many industry which I would love to be in.
Don’t quote me wrong as travel industry will still be my main and I still like being in the service industry.
So yeah.. this is it.. I’m gonna keep this as a memory of my days with Henry Butcher.
It was educating, fun and great to work with them. Where, work comes first then play.
It was sort of like a project marketing and Henry Butcher is marketing Australian properties. Well, they do have a lot of business divisions like valuation, consultancy, agency, management, plant & machinery and of course marketing.
First project marketing job was with Metricon Australia. One of Melbourne’s largest property developer and we are marketing Sanctuary Lakes Resort. About 25km off the west of Melbourne.

the booth setting..
This particular project marketing is all about selling home and land package.

one of the many home choices to built…
I find that, people wants more and more information, which is good.
They want to listen from the expert, from those who has been there and for those who can answer all their queries. Most importantly their Return of Investment.

too many suburb to choose from in Australia…
That was the Luxury Property Showcase at the recent Malaysia International Property Exhibition. My next project marketing job was Hilton Surfers Paradise Hotel & Residences and Southport Central by Raptis.

I like the tagline… soon Thomas.. very soon…
You see, the cheapest property for Hilton is about AUD 1 million… and for Friday and Saturday while we were at Hilton KL Sentral, there were not many people. But come Sunday, this is what we had to handle…

there were more or less 100 guests who came…
They were all so attentive to the talk by Raptis representative.

captivated by the Southport Central presentation…
I underestimated the buying power of Malaysians… like seriously.
The lot who came are people with buying power whom are already in the lead of corporate ladder or someone with some sort of title. (Note: Dato, Datin, Tan Sri, Tengku)

everyone look at the model now…
The sale turnout was great… not as great as what Henry Butcher and Raptis targeted but it was good enough to throw a night of celebration. Fifteen property sold, both Hilton and Southport.

this scene is like a multi-level marketing sit down explanation.. no?
Made a few friends here…

Sooi Ping, the PR Exec for Henry Butcher Malaysia…
The 3 days project marketing exhibition was a great success. So what do they do?

Take picture lor…
It is then, a briefing by Peter, the head of Raptis Group…

“Sell more next time!”
and… a nice sumptuous dinner at Chynna Restaurant, Hilton KL.

all set!
I’m so loving this project marketing job and I wouldn’t mind doing it again…

oh the love of success…
Just, let me get the hang of it.. I might be the richest man in Malaysia in 10 years.
Heh…
