Our PM don’t accept rose! What can we give?
February 16, 2008 – 10:53 pmIn a bid to send a rose to our beloved Prime Minister, Abdullah Badawi, it seems
that he doesn’t like or accept rose either.
It is all over the news in Al Jazeera, Reuters, BBC News, BBC Video, Sify News, and AFP.
With the widely international coverage of the protest news, it is “just another day of
international shame for Malaysia (Lim Kit Siang)”. I couldn’t agree more.
The chronicles of 16th February 08 event can be viewed here at Roses4PM.
Malaysiakini has an exclusive video coverage. Please watch and judge yourself.
Aren’t we a democratic country as claimed by YOU Barisan Nasional leader?Let me show you WHAT IS a democratic country. United Kingdom.
Yes, in London, they had the similar protest, but they were of peace. They were not
even disturbed by the British Police. Not even a single water cannon sighted. In Malaysia, here in Kuala Lumpur, the way our government handles street protest
which really reflects the discontent of many Malaysians is different. They resort to
the usage of police force, water cannons, and tear gas.
For God’s sake, “They came in peace, seeking justice.” (Haris Ibrahim)

It was intended to be a peaceful event. No fight or any disturbance created.
I mean, of course there is a disturbance in a protest, else it wouldn’t be called
a protest in the first place. But, when it comes to a “peaceful” event, it means no
weapons, no fights but just chanting of names, crying out for help and well shouts.

You see, we are just human and being a human, we voice out what we do not like.
You BN leaders tells us there are avenues where we can voice out. But the problem
is, DO YOU LISTEN? If you don’t even want to listen to our “peaceful” protest,
what more can we expect from the other avenues we can go and complaint?
It is more like talking to deaf ears!

It is just not fair that we all Malaysians are treated like animals where you think
you can just arrest us and make sure we fear you. WHY MUST WE FEAR YOU!?

You can go ahead and keep on arresting all of us Malaysians for we will still stand
on our ground and fight on for a better Malaysia for all of Malaysians.
Although I would say Malaysia is a beatiful country but I just couldn’t agree much
as it is YES a beautiful country FROM THE OUTSIDE, but NOT INSIDE!

When our Prime Minister don’t accept roses, what else can we give him eh?
I say we give him our piece of mind on this coming 12th General Election!!

Give him the biggest loss in seats to show our displeasure and mistake in giving him the record 90% majority in the last GE.
I am surprised at the lack of PR at this stage of an impending GE. I would tend to expect drastic measures like arresting key opposition leaders when they ‘break the law’(up to their own definition)to prevent them from contesting.
Anwar is out for now by just selecting early dissolution of Parliament.
In Britain, the police would ensure peaceful demonstration.
Our police could have allowed a limited number or, in this case, only the children to present the roses and our image would have been excellent to the outside world.

Geee….makes me wonder what was the intended purpose of this event.
I mean, shouldn’t they be expeting cops heading their way with so many people on the street? And yet they bring their kids along. wow…
